This track is not only genre defining but instrumentally so dense that finding these little fills and riffs here and there feel like finding a treasure chest in the middle of some magical forest. You can feel the passion they oozed while playing their instruments during recording sessions. All in all this is a 10/10 song in the history of all music.

2:05 I love this chord progression so much, it's so simple and beautiful. It's rising up and resolute, feels uplift, unstoppable and determined. Sione Teumohenga that's incredible haha. here's one for you. if you listen real close either in some headphones or through a system with good bass, if you listen to when the 2nd chorus begins to repeat one more time, right after Rob' s fill, (about at 1:39) he actually does a quick double bass fill before the snare...i never heard that before the instrumental version either.... and you're gonna need headphones or something, cause I tried to tell it through just my cell phone speaker, but I think the frequencies are too low and soft to be represented in the cell phone speaker

low-key this instrumental is one of the strongest tracks of all TIME. And I didn't know about these instrumentals until like a month ago... and Linkin park is the band that inspired me to both pick up a guitar AND become a vocalist approximately 15 years ago ... and I'm just NOW being able to hear the beautiful and complete mastery of these tracks sans Chester 's vox. This shit just sounds so good riding down the road in a good car stereo... the chorus is some of the most pleasurable music I've ever had the privilege of sinking myself into... and the song finishes perfectly. in a way, this is almost the height of music in culture... after 2000, I think we started to begin a slow trend of watering down music and an influx of crap music began being produced since it became so cheap to make music, everybody can do it, lyrics don't even have to be quality content, just need to rhyme and catch someone's attention...

And now in 2020, metallo-rock music and just about anything that has distorted guitars has become a shadowed genre in favor of electropop and mumble rap with heavy bass and nonsensical lyrics. And they make even more money than music that requires collective effort of a few people with their own skills in instruments to produce.

When this came out in 2000, I was smoking pot at my friend's off-campus house and was blown away. It was dark, it was hugely aggressive, it was catchy AF, and unlike so much lame rock-rap at the time, the emceeing was actually on point, creating a glorious contrast with the hook by Chester. To my stoned ears, it was a revelation. To this day, Papercut remains my favorite Linkin Park song, by far.

This is how I sing Papercut with 6-track demo vocals (Chester parts only): Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today Why am I so uptight today? Paranoia's all I got left I don't know what stressed me out first Or how the pressure was fed/but I know just what it feels like To have a voice in the back of my head It's like a face that I hold inside A face that awakes when my close my eyes A face that watches every time I lie A face that laughs every time I fall (And watches everything) So I know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is hearing me/Right underneath my skin It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin I know I've got a face in me Points out all my mistakes to me You've got a face on the inside too Your paranoia's probably worse I don't know what set me off first But I know what I can't stand Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is I can't add up to what you can But everybody has a face that they hold inside A face that awakes when they close their eyes A face that watches every time they lie A face that laughs every time they fall (And watches everything) So you know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is watching you too/Right inside your skin It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath the skin It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin The face inside is right beneath your skin The face inside is right beneath your skin The face inside is right beneath your skin The sun goes down I feel the light betray me The sun goes down I feel the light betray me It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back (The sun goes down) It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath the skin (I feel the light betray me) It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back (The sun goes down) It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within (I feel the light betray me) It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within (I feel the light betray me)

Why do I find the instrumentals more better than the original songs with the singers?

2:03 this is when the song opens up. Its essence comes out after the early darker developments.

My first LP was back in 2004. One step Closer wich made me to addicted to this Epic Band. Ive bought all CDs of Linkin Park, listen every Song knowing the lyrics without Vocal. Tell me wich Band is like Linkin Park?? None. All other Bands are Maroon 5ish.
