No one can ever replace Chester. He had a unique way of touching your heart with his vocals. I cannot see a woman adding to the band’s vocals. I miss him terribly. I suffer from depression and his songs used to make me feel better…to know others felt the same way. God bless Linkin Park whatever they do. Keep going!

I remember when Chester was in Stone Temple Pilots, he lived the same drama, STP fans didn't want Scott Weiland replaced, me as a STP and Scott's big fan, I thought that was amazing, i think the same here, of course Chester is irreplaceable, but the band wasn't only Chester, and I believe this could be a beautiful tribute.

I said years ago that, if Linkin Park were to come back, it should be with a female vocalist. Any male vocalist they could find will be ruthlessly compared to Chester. Linkin Park will never be able to find a vocalist that makes us feel the way Chester did, but it *is* possible that they could do something different. A female vocalist is far less likely to be bogged down by the unfair Chester comparisons.

well, there could be a male singer that can handle it well, for example, matt walst replaced adam gontier really well in three days grace, so i can't see how it wouldn't work with linkin park, even because for a female singer it would be very hard, to not say impossible, to reach chester's key in heavier songs like lying from you without frying all along the song, which honestly, would ruin it...

Amy Lee doesn't/can't scream, so unless Linkin Park planned to reunite without ever playing One Step Closer, or like 40% of their back catalogue, it wouldn't work. We're looking at a Lacey Sturm, Courtney LaPlante, Maria Brink type vocalist if the band hire within established artists, but of course they could also hire a relative unknown if they absolutely nail it.

It would be a shame to waste it. You know Chester would want them to keep going. Honestly I support whatever Linkin Park does if they make a comeback, it's just extremely unfortunate that we all lost Chester, a unique voice that brought so much soul and liveliness to the lyrics of each song. I trust Linkin Park can still do it with a New Singer, Mike Shinoda is great at combining everyone's skills together to make something work, and no doubt the band will succeed with whatever they go for. They are always reimagining how something sounds and you gotta love their art for what it is, even if it isn't your cup of tea sort of speak.

Mike has said it time and time again- Until Linkin Park makes the announcement themselves, it's all just rumors- which he was quoted as saying in that article you just had up on screen. Mike has been very clear from the beginning that they will only have a new singer if it comes along organically and everyone is on board with it. Linkin Park has always been very keen on correct information about their band with Mike Shinoda always shooting down information that is false. Mike didn't really deny this news in his latest interview, he simply said 'If their are news things, it will be on our website'. Also Linkin Park recently changed their booking agency which is pointless to do unless you're planning some touring. The puzzle parts are all falling and at this point, some elaboration is keen. Or they will shut this down forever or the rumors turn out to be true. Something is boiling and i'm pretty sure they will come back.

Dude i am SO excited to see them come back. LP has been my favorite band since i was ten, and im 29 now. I think LP can knock it out with a new singer. Theyre a band that has CONSTANTLY changed their sound and this will be little different. Yes, Chester’s voice was distinct, but having a new sound is not a strange thing for them. I truly believe that they can make it work. They are all super talented professionals and i have faith that they know what theyre doing. If it works for them, then im all for whatever it is. They deserve the trust and respect. Even if its not what some people like/want I believe the band deserves to do what they want/like regardless.

Reflecting on what linkin park is and what they stand for I think this is a huge opertunity and subjectively I believe this is the best thing for this band. LP is all about rebuilding their sound and making something organic and fresh. By implementing a new female lead they are standing by their musical ideals, allowing opportunity to a new vocalist, widing their audience and can experiment while also paying tribute to their bandmate and brother truthfully linkin park has never been defined by one member their are 5 other guys that are gonna make 100% sure that it is still Linkin Park. The way I see it Linkin Park was never a gimmick, they all cares about the music they made and the fans they inspired. To the fans I’m positive the music meant a lot to them just as much as it did to the band. Personally, brother I seen Alice In Chains in 2009. I was 15 years old. It was probably one of the best moments ever for me. Granted Layne wasn’t there, but he was Jerry Cantrell was Alice In Chains as well with LINKIN PARK. I never got to see them live, and it destroys me more or less go see the band you want to see before it’s too late I know I’ll be going if they come back…😢😢😢 the concert was rock on the Range in 2009 in Ohio. The lineup was insanely crazy I was 15 years old and my mom had alcohol poisoning and we were at a festival so Alice In Chains, Avenged Sevenfold, korn and slipknot. All ended the first night I was by myself in the crowd of 70,000 people. I got to see the rev I got to see JD I got to see joey destroys me I didn’t get to see Chester.

They arent technically the same exact music style since evanescence's goes more into rock ballads and not too much techno industrial sounds ..But like I said , if you put Amy Lee on LP …Drop a new album and release it without any bands name on front …Ppl gonna think its evanescence's new album 😂 And this is why I dont think its a good choice to put her there.

I really enjoyed Mike's song with K.Flay "Make it Up As I Go". If K.Flay made music with Linkin Park members, even if it's only part-time, I would be okay with that. She did such a great job being a guest vocalist with artists like Tom Morello and a bunch of indie pop/rock bands. The other woman who could be interesting is Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox. She could sing, she could scream. Again, maybe LP will do like Queen did with Adam Lambert. Maybe future releases will be a side project collab with a singer of another band.

I‘m not necessarily a fan of the idea of Linkin Park continuing with a female lead singer. Would prefer a male vocalist with them making new music (mixing genres again, maybe doing some massively heavy metalcore-ish stuff) and just performing some older songs as a tribute. Interesting news. Amy Lee would definitely make for a good mix into LP. As she's busy though, other names I'd throw out there is Floor Jansen from Nightwish, or maybe someone else with an amazing vocal range (one I only found recently thanks to the Metal Hellsinger game) Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy (if you havent heard the track from Hellsinger - "Stygia", definitely recommend it; to hear the vocal range and its such a good track)

I think this will be good for the band, as a new beginning new songs etc. It might not hit as hard as the old stuff with Chester but I think the band overall still has a lot good to offer.

The band deserve to keep on playing their music, it will be "LP chapter 2" not the same but a new form of what we knew. Chester is unique, but i am ok with the fact that they want to come back :)
