[Mike:] What was left when that fire was gone? I thought it felt right but that right was wrong All caught up in the eye of the storm And trying to figure out what it's like moving on And I don't even know what kind of things I said My mouth kept moving and my mind went dead So I'm picking up the pieces, now where to begin The hardest part of ending is starting again Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh… [Chester ('til end):] All I want to do Is trade this life for something new Holding on to what I haven't got I'm holding on to what I haven't got I'm holding on to what I haven't got [Mike:] This is not the end, this is not the beginning Just a voice like a riot rocking every revision (I'm holding on to what I haven't got) But you listen to the tone and the violent rhythm Though the words sound steady something empty's within them We say yeah with fists flying up in the air Like we're holding onto something that's invisible there (Holding on to what I haven't got) 'Cause we're living at the mercy of the pain and the fear Until we get it, forget it, let it all disappear

Your voice in "Waiting for the End" echoes in every corner of our souls-a powerful anthem of hope, struggle, and transformation. The way you poured your heart into those lyrics feels like a call to anyone battling their own storms. You sang about reaching for something new, for light amidst the darkness, and it reminds us to never stop striving, even when the end seems near. Your passion turned pain into poetry, and your voice remains a guide, a rhythm, a lifeline. Though you're not here with us anymore, your legacy continues. Through your music, we find strength, solace, and the courage to keep moving forward. We miss you, Chester. Thank you for teaching us to embrace the highs and lows of life with the same raw intensity you brought to your art. ❤ Forever in our hearts, Your fans 🌟

Goddam, Chester was a vocalist in a class of his own, the best ever of all time, it was so effortless for him. Always amazed at how raw, unpolished, and how little technique he actually used, full belted chest screams, and yet, always so fucking precise in every syllable of vocal delivery. Fucking hell, no one like him before or since.

my personal interpretation about the song is that Linkin Park is evolving and they are venturing into new materials, trying to make different yet better musics in every album. So the song kinda tells the fan that they do not want to stay in one type of song like the METEORA or Hybrid Theory ..so this is something that they want..moving forward and creating new sound. That is what i like about this band is that they sound different and i really appreciate all the new kind of songs and materials that theyre trying to bring in every album. That is a pro right there. That is a true musician and LP really are in they're class of their own.

I mean sry but that's definitely not the meaning of the song. LP makes songs that people can relate too and a song where Chester's sings "waiting for the end" and other depressive stuff is definitely not meant to be based on music. I think this song is entirely about how someone feels when they have depression. And Chester was only holding on to those things that he hasn't got yet

Just listening to this and it helped me through my divorce the year this song came out. Brings tears to my eyes to think of the hurt and pain Chester felt when he left us. 💔 it's my favorite song, and I wish he was still here, he had such a gift.

Miss Chester so much❤ I'm not really happy with the band's choice of having a new vocalist, but i think it is the fairest thing to do rn. Im not hating on Emily because she's a really good singer, and LP deserves to make new music after all this time. I'm just not ready yet. LP forever❤
