I think the most painful part of Chester’s passing for fans is the fact that so many of us can point to numerous times when his music saved us. During the worst parts of our lives his voice offered an expression and catharsis for our pain. But as he saved us we sadly could not save him. Linkin Park saved me from depression and suicide several times. Chester put so much of his heart and soul into songs that it was “our” therapy. The guy that got me through the toughest years of my life. his music is one of reasons why I'm still here today.

Linkin Park saved me from breaking due to the mental abuse by my mother. It got less in the last months but what hurts me the most now is she won't admit she was wrong, to quote Eminem who took my anger while Linkin Park took my fear and sadness. But on it's two years of peak of mental abuse, she insulted me, she shouted at me and broke up everything positive of our relationship. When she mentally abused me so hard I didn't want to stand up anymore, I always listened to this song. It still helps when I got issues with flashbacks.

The worst it's many of those "fans" left Chester down when they didn't listen his last album with LP, the moment "Heavy" came out I knew this album was really personal, but "fans" didn't care about what he was going through or the messages in the songs, they only wanted to hear screams like it was 2002. I'm not sure if this attitude took his life, but not getting support from his fans didn't help either.

In my case mate I didn't leave my room for 1month. I was really shocked when I heard it from a news. Chester leaves a very big legacy, he save us from depression and pain. Eric Ureta I was listening to this album(Minutes to Midnight is my personal favorite LP album) in the car today, and I was looking at the lyrics to this song when it came on, and it was like a stab in my heart. I started to just break down. Linkin Park, was one of the first bands I ever heard and Chester's voice always stayed with me after every album was finished. It's not going to be the same without him around. I wish I could have had the opportunity to see them live. But, now it won't ever come to pass. RIP

Oh wow, I never stopped listening to LP throughout the years, but for some reason the KZbin algorythm never caught this one in all my sprees, which is weird because from the very first chord I remembered just how much I loved this song when it first came out. Chaz, you didn't leave behind some reasons to be missed. You left countless reasons. There wasn't, there isn't and quite honestly I don't think there will ever be anyone else with your uniquely gorgeous combination of incredible pipes and raw emotion. You touched a lot of people and we still miss you. It's definitely the first time I've listened to this song for almost a decade because I don't ever remember crying so hard all the way through thinking about you and how the people around you couldn't manage to show you a tiny flicker of light in the midst of all the darkness and trauma in your life because something inside you kept them out. Such a devastating loss of a man that always seemed so sweet and kind when sober if not all the time. Also, it makes me really mad that the music world at large never gave you the respect you deserved. You should be a living legend right now, but you're still a legend in your fans and loved ones' hearts. RiP you beautiful soul.
