No song LP puts out is bad. I'll always be a fan. But Mike Shinoda was the glue to this band and he's just gone. Every new song thats been uploaded, every album since meteora. Mike has only rapped on a handful of tracks. The best rapper of all time is alive and well and not blessing the world with his amazing lyricism and rhyme. It's really just sad. There are plenty of good producers and instrumentalist who can do that just as well as Mike can. No one can rap like him. I don't know if he'll ever really come back. A couple songs is just not enough. LP I hope u read this and Mike you are my hero. Come back.
@Tyhunte10 жыл бұрын
Mike isn't the best rapper at all, lawl. And just because he didn't rap doesn't mean he didn't work on the albums, he actually does the most work with Han on the producing, writing and creative part.
@365reece10 жыл бұрын
If you listen properly to a lot of the songs Mike sings a lot of the songs and does a lot of the introduction, then he also plays the guitar and the keyboard. Then he also has the job of producing most of the songs, and does a lot of the music videos with Han
@SouLAnimation10 жыл бұрын
Tyhunte Mike is the best rapper and what you think is your opinion i could care less about. As for him writing and producing. Everyone writes. He produces and does instrumentals anyone can do like I said. Thanks for also bringing me to the point Han also barely DJs anymore.
@SouLAnimation10 жыл бұрын
Reece Turner If I listen properly. lol. what. Yea I know exactly what he does I've watched every video, had every album, and been to multiple LP concerts. He's a good singer. He's an amazing rapper. He barely does it anymore.
@kuriodelchromaantilogia69010 жыл бұрын
+SouLAnimation Okay, Mike may not be the best rapper, but his raps are awesome and so is he. And we must respaect others opinions. He is there singing in every chorus, playing the instruments and doing a lot of work. Like Tyhunte said, just because he doesn't have a lot of solo doesn't mean that he isn't there, he is always working hard with Mr. Han and Chester-chaz and that is a hell of a lot of hard work. And also, Mr. Han Does do the sounds. Everyone has opinions and most of them differ from the other. Tyhunte could have dismissed your opinion in a rude way, but he just stated his opinion, so you shouldn't disregard. Enough of my lecture, Linkin Park music video page shouldn't turn into an argument space, it is holy and sacred, so enjoy LP. :-)

Am I the only one who enjoy Linkin Parks softer, ballad, type songs better than their heavier, aggressive side? that's the beauty of Linkin Park's music, you get all sorts of styles and genres. You could be listening to Iridescent and then listen to Keys to the Kingdom and never know that it was the same band (if you weren't already a fan).

I just listened the whole album (on iTunes). If we forget singles (like Final Masquerade and Until it's Gone for example), The Hunting Party is not a back to roots (i don't know if we say that in english) like journalist used to say... The Hunting Party is a fucking flow of adrenaline ! It's a really aggressive rock. We definitely can't compare this album with any previous album of this band. The Hunting Party is unique.

Album really suprised me! you're so right with everything you said before. But 1 critical point.. Tom Morello is the obvious disappointment, his presence is completely unnoticeable on Drawbar. I really was looking forward for this track. Some epic RATM sounds, with some epic rapping of Shinoda or something like that. Too bad :( But beside that, Linkin Park did a perfect job.(like always, hehe)
@DecadeofDecay10 жыл бұрын
Dennis Krempel I'm agree ! When i listened to Drawbar... i said... eh... and what about Tom Morello ?! I'm not a fan of Tom Morello, i mean, like every people of my generation I listened to RATM back in the days, but i didn't listen to Audioslave and so on... We obviously wanted to know what kind of song could make Linkin Park w/ Tom Morello... and we got Drawbar...and I don't know what to think, the instrumental is not bad... but it's just an interlude for me.

People dare to call themselves 'true fans' but then bitch about Living Things, this album, and how LP is changing. If you were a 'true fan,' you'd believe that each album, no matter how DIFFERENT, are all good and unique in their own ways. LP is NOT going to stay the same- that's how bands get stagnant, especially in this day and time. LP will change their music to how they feel, not you. They can't always sing songs about breakups and they can't always make albums that are like Metora and Hybrid Theory. It's the cold truth, but it's the truth.
@Bondubras10 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. If a band never changes, they'll never get new music, eventually losing their entire fanbase due to sheer boredom. The Nightwish lineup is a prime example: Nearly every album has had a different lead singer, giving each album a distinct sound. Oceanborn has great instrumentals, Imaginaerum has absolutely gorgeous lyrics, and Dark Passion Play is a great album for new fans to get their start with this amazing band. I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them atm... My point is this: Just because the songs are different, doesn't automatically mean that it's not 'true' Nightwish. Linkin Park is the same way. All of their albums have different qualities that different people like. It doesn't mean that it's not 'true' Linkin Park. It just means that it's a different album.
@blackstarlight1710 жыл бұрын
Can't help but agree, but all music in general wouldn't have evolved if it never evolved in the beginning. We wouldn't have what we have if people/artists didn't explore and change things up to entertain/speak/live for the audience. Doesn't matter if it's rock, classical, tribal, lyrical or instrumental, etc. In the end, it all came from the same source when you really think about it.
@Bondubras10 жыл бұрын

You're not a true fan because you love every single thing they do. No, then you're a desperate liar, who thinks he's a true fan. A true fan knows when to criticize, and when not to. Linkin Park have made some bad songs over the years, at least in my opinion, but I think they're still good. People saying; "You're not a true fan because you don't like their new stuff, only their old." Well, to be honest, that's stupid. If you got into them because you like rock/metal, then it's fair if you don't like their newer stuff, because it's not the genre a lot of these people like. If you're not into techno, you're not into techno. That's just how it is. It's not gonna change just because it's your favorite band. P.S. I do still love LP, and a lot of their newer music, but I obviously have a few dislikes. And I bet you do, too.

Personally, I see it this way: -Their first album: "Hybrid Theory EP" (1999,), was a GREAT insight into what the band would be known for, a well-made blend of rap and rock -Their second album" "Hybrid Theory" (Bonus Track Version, 2000,), was the first Linkin Park album I ever listened to, back when I got into them after hearing the song "Runaway," from an old promo of Shadow the Hedgehog. Ah, memories. Most of the songs have a nice blend of rap, and rock, with more emphasis on screaming, and more punk this time. -Their third album: "Reanimation" (2002,), was mostly just new remixes of the songs from Hybrid Theory(2000,), but overall, I actually quite like some of the remixes. Granted the whole album isn't perfect ,and some of the remixes are NOTHING compared to the original songs, but overall.......meh. -Their fourth album: "Meteora" (2003, Bonus Track Version,), is probably my favorite album of theirs of all time. SO many catchy songs(Breaking the Habit, Numb, Easier To Run, Faint,), that I grew up with back in elementary school and middle school, and this is the album that PUT Linkin Park on the map. A perfect blend of rock, rap, some punk here and there, and GREAt techno. Overall, their finest work, which has YET to be topped. -Their fifth album: "Collision Course" (2004, Deluxe Version,), was ok. I like the remixes, and granted, they featured Jay-Z, who I despise now, but this was back when people could actually tolerate his music somewhat. But, Will Smith does indeed save this album by giving us an AWESOME remix of Numb and his song Party Starter. Overall, a decent album. -Their sixth album: "Minutes To Midnight" (2007, Deluxe Version,), was a slight improvement in terms of their musical direction. Granted, this is probably their softest album, with rock elements being an occurrence here and there in a few songs, but overall, it was a good album. -Their seventh, and most mixed album, "A Thousand Suns" (2010, Deluxe Version,), continues to cause SO much controversy to THIS day, mostly because the band took SO many new directions with this album. Focusing on more alternative rock, rap, and HIGH emphasis on electro punk rock. Overall, I actually quite like it. I hated it upon its release, but looking back on it, and giving it a good listen a few more times, the album is actually VERY AWESOME! I LOVE their experimentation, and most of the songs are nice to hear. Overall, SO underrated! -Their eigth album, "Living Things," (2012,), saw them return to their rock elements, but still had emphasis on electric tecnho punk. Overall, a nice comeback, but could have been better. -Their ninth album, "Recharged" (2013,), WAS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! It took all the songs we loved from "Living Things" and turned them into garbage substitute dub step remixes. HORRIBLE ALBUM............except for the new song: "A Light That Never Comes." -Their tenth album, "The Hunting Party" (2014,), was the album fans had been hoping for. Taking away MOST of the electric punk and techno rock that left fans mixed, this album focuses CORELY on Linkin Park's: punk rock, rock, and rap. Most of the songs on this album are flawless, and in fact, is as good as Meteora. Yeah, I said it. Deal with it! The songs have that classic Linkin Park feel, and it makes you feel all nostalgic all over again! Overall, this IS the Linkin Park album fans had been hoping for! NEAR FLAWLESS! Oh, and P.S., in terms of their movie songs, I love ALL of them. -"What I've Done" - theme from Transformers (2007) -"New Divide" - theme from Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen (2009) -"Iridescent" - theme from Transformers 3: Dark of The Moon (2011) -"Roads Untraveled" - ending theme song from Need For Speed (2014) All of these songs are PERFECT, FLAWLESS, SOLID ROCK SONG THAT MAKE THE MOVIES LISTE DHERE EVEN MORE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far this "heavy album" sure has a lot of slow love songs.. Just having a guitar doesn't make something heavy. Give me something like Somewhere I belong, Don't Stay, Faint, Numb, that stuff seemed to fit you guys so much more, you could feel the emotion and the message in it, now I just feel like it fits a expectation of what people like. -A long time fan whose still coming to see you guys again this summer!

Shawn Dessart No, he is right. This is the hardest album they have put out. Its louder than Meteroa or Hybrid theory. The screaming in those albums was more harmonic, almost like chester is singing what he is screaming. In this he is mostly just screaming. The guitar is harder, the rap lyrics are harder, there is a swear word in the first song. I mean, its harder by definition. They only thing missing is Mr Hahn.

It is like losing a close friend that lifted you up, kept you going and helped you through so many tough times. To make it even worse, a wave of sadness always rushes over me now when I listen to LP's music, because I am reminded that Chester is gone. 😢 Losing that special connection with that one musician who inspires you more than anyone else is just so sad. Final Masquerade is the final track on the album Hunting Party, it features a much slower tempo than the other songs on the album. The song itself is themed about the conflict that occurs between couples. Assuming that in a relationship, uniting 2 heads into one mind is very difficult. So in simple terms Final Masquerade is a song that tells about the final stage of a relationship (can be with a lover, friend, etc.) before a breakup occurs. In this phase, every couple will definitely fight and miss communication will occur in the unification of thoughts. So that in some of the lyrics, the songwriter (let's assume he is Chester the vocalist) asks his girlfriend to communicate openly with each other, and opens up the last play that her lover has been holding back, so that everything is clear.

Or so i thought, 10.12.22, she just... Melted on me, my first tears shed over feelings. *We said it was Forever, then it slipped away, standing at the end, of the final masquerade.* That day was terrible, another friend dead, my love left me, money falling, scars only growing more & more, i hath got a feeling this may be be my demise.
