Lyrics Like shining oil, this night is dripping down Stars are slipping down, glistening And I'm trying not to think what I'm leaving now No deceiving now, it's time you let me know Let me know When the lights go out and we open our eyes, Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Let the sun fade out and another one rise Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone This air between us is getting thinner now Into winter now, bitter sweet Across that horizon this sun is setting down No forgetting now, it's time you let me go, let me go When the lights go out and we open our eyes, Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Let the sun fade out and another one rise Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone And tell them I couldn't help myself And tell them I was alone Oh, tell me I am the only one And there's nothing left to stop me When the lights go out and we open our eyes, Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Let the sun fade out and another one rise Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone I'll be gone (I'll be gone)

I heard of somone saying, that Linkin Park's music would be music of the devil. I did not know what to make of that comment, because it really has a big dark side their music. But i think it also reflects an atempt to step out of the darkness. And there is no doubt, that Chester knew darkness. It got a piece of him and finally got him. But his music seemw really to be like a documentation and an atempt to beat the darkness with all he got. And that is why it is great! He left something, that can give hope in dark times and furthermore the music can provoke the strength to beat the darkness inside.
@shainakaith98664 жыл бұрын

Let the sun fade out, and another one rise... ...In the midst of my sadness about Chester's death, this line made me realize, if I want more music to exist that is as deeply meaningful to me as his music has been, maybe it's time to make it myself. His passing marks an end of a period in my life; maybe, it can mark the beginning of something special, as well. Carry on his legacy. If he was important to you, be for someone else what he was for you.

The Linkin Park band is a true benefit to the mankind. Not only it is helps people fight depression (including me back in the day), but taught me a life lesson as well. Last time LP had a concert in Prague, I decided NOT TO GO, because I had little money. I had some, but I was afraid to spend a big part of my savings "just for a concert" and the travel of course. Few months later Chester passed away… What it taught me - guys, let us do not hesitate to live our lifes to the fullest. In Czech republic, we have a saying and can be translated like this: "Tomorrow, there will be money, but we maybe will not". Since then, I do all my decisions by asking myself "What would I do if this was the last day of my life?" Do not forget to smile, guys :-) Forgive me, Chester.

Like shining oil, this night is dripping down Stars are slipping down, glistening And I'm trying not to think what I'm leaving now No deceiving now, it's time you let me know Let me know When the lights go out and we open our eyes, Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Let the sun fade out and another one rise Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone This in between us is getting thinner now Into winter now, bitter sweet Across that horizon this sun is setting down You're forgetting now, it's time you let me go, let me go When the lights go out and we open our eyes, Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Let the sun fade out and another one rise Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone And tell them I couldn't help myself And tell them I was alone Oh, tell me I am the only one And there's nothing left to stop me When the lights go out and we open our eyes, Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Let the sun fade out and another one rise Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone I'll be gone (I'll be gone)

And he said " let the lights go out and we open our eyes out there in the silence I'll be gone; when the sun fades out and another one rise climbing through tomorrows I'll be gone" 😢😢😢😢 and yes he left us 💔. R.I.P Chester (1976-20, July 2017).

2:18 listened to this album fully a year after he passed, originally didn't like it as much as any of the others. this part came on and I broke down mentally and emotionally. I suppose as a fan, I feel guilty because musicians are humans too, and because they put feeling and thought into albums and songs, it would have been good to even send him a tweet or comment, just something, asking if he was okay, giving support. I know from personal experience, one message can change everything, even gif just for a moment. spread the word.

This song, "In My Remains" and "Roads Untraveled" are so magical. I consider myself lucky for witnessing the release of this album - one of Linkin Park's most underrated, along with A Thousand Suns.

Looking back at the lyrics now, you can tell that Chester knew he was gonna lose his battle and listening to this now thats he’s gone, it’s harder- just like ‘Leave Out All The Rest’ it felt like he knew and that he was writing songs for his future self and to his fans who loved him.

I'm always happy to see comments saying something along the lines of "Man Chester's suicide reveals gives this song a new meaning." I'm happy because that means you have never felt the utter soul crushing despair he went through. Unfortunately, for those of us who have gone through the same feelings knew the true meaning of songs like "i'll be gone" the day it came out. Its simply about ending the never ending pain you feel through suicide. "And tell them I couldn't help myself And tell them I was alone Oh, tell me I am the only one.." ^^Gives me chills every time I hear it.

I have been listening to this song a lot back when the album released. It was my favorite track, the instrumental (with the collaboration of arcade fire) gave me chill and I felt like chester put so much feeling in the very first Chorus, when he sing: "OUT THERE IN THE SILENCE". It gave me goosebump, and I was in deep depression back then and I felt what he meant. Ive been waiting for him to sing this live but it never came, I guess his suicide was the deepest live interpretation of this song. This song is also about the next sun rising in the next bightest days, and he did try to point that out the best he could in his lyrics, in every song. He will be missed. Thank you for everything you did for us, thank you for sharing your pain, and sharing your hope Chester. Rip
