The shower separated from the toilet is actually amazing for active commuters, be it runners, long distance walkers, cyclists etc. Most super nice tech companies have some amenities for these people. You get healthier employees, and (from experience) people that are more happy in the morning since they just did their exercise which is a great way to start a day. I know it might be weird having a shower in an office or something but trust me it's amazing when you want to try commuting in a different way (even if it's only once a month!).

Tip from an Electrician: Replace ALL your lighting with LED fittings , including the warehouse (hi-bay type). Sure it may cost a bit more than fluorescent fittings, but you save power and they'll last longer in intensity and lifespan. Also, when your replacing office light fittings, change the ceiling tiles (linings) as you'll benefit with reflection of the light and will feel more spacious and a clean environment. Removing walls, watch for services running within them, it'll be additional costs to alter the electrical power circuits. In dark shelf storage areas, run LED strip lighting to illuminate the back areas of the shelf. You may want to use light colour natural wood in places with some plants around to reflect a Zen happy workplace). Well done on the location, and go ballistic in chopping and changing this property to suit your needs. A tour would be great when its all finished guys.

@@mycosys The problem is business model. Mainstream outlets are almost entirely advertiser funded, and when all of your revenue comes from advertisers, you kinda can't do big exposes against them or you're just screwed. Subscriber funded journalism is generally better, but since the subscriber base for traditional media tends to lean older and wealthier, they end up almost as out of touch as the advertiser funded outlets. New media, on the other hand, tends to be funded through donations and merch, and the primary purchasers for those are your average consumers, and as a result, they end up the most in touch and honest from the perspective of most people. 8:10 this is very true for almost all fields of work. A lot of employers like to think of themselves as creating a "collaborative" workspace or "inspiring creativity" with open floor work plans, yet all of the executives and 'higher ups' get their own private offices. The fact of the matter is that employees vastly prefer their own private offices and would rather not work in an open environment. Most employers do know this and simply use those excuses to justify the cost-cutting measures of an open-floor plan. This is also one of the many reasons that open offices like WeWork are failing.
