It's not really "this generation" though, Nvidia kept their new design so under wrap that 90%+ of all RTX 5090 cards out in the wild, the non-FE ones, will be as massive as 4090s.

there is an argument to be made that it shrunk in the only direction that does not matter. slot height is kinda whatever in most cases but less wide and shorter would have been nice.

I always find these data-heavy videos interesting, but often find my attention strays away by the third or fourth graph. This format with different presenters covering different areas is a fantastic way to alleviate that! The regular change of pace, voice and presentation style really kept my attention - you absolutely nailed the format here, which isn't easy with a video like this!

Is anyone else mixing up Average FPS and 1% Lows in their graphs? They have on top and with red bright color the 1% Lows and with gray color and at the bottom the actual Average FPS. This is completely antithetical compared to every other reviewer graphs where they ALWAYS put Average FPS with bright colors on top and 1% Lows at the bottom with less pronounced colors. This is causing me to do a double take each time I see the graphs and it takes some time to distinguish what I'm seeing. Please consider changing that!

It's on the same node, 2 more years and TSMC might have 2nm hopefully. Gamers got too comfortable going from 12nm->8nm->4nm now again 4nm.

Tbh thats the sensible approach, the difference is otherworldly. I remember upgrading from 650Ti boost to RX580..... now from 2022 i got a l5p with 3070Ti but if i find a good technician ill try upgrading the VRam on it. Wont build a desk PC for many years and will buy a laptop again at some point.

Can't believe we're BARELY getting GPUs that can handle 4k video, after what, almost a decade after 4k became a thing? Hell, my phone can manage 4k video now, we weren't sure that was ever going to be possible. But GPU power hasn't been able to keep up on the rendering side. It makes sense as it's an expinential scale, but it's still sad!

20:13 Wait, it's smaller, but it's significantly warmer, and you say it's "doing a great job"? What do we want to achieve here, cooling or saving space in the case? A new gen that produces 30% more power, yet costs 30% more watts at 10 more degrees, I don't think that's a great achievement.

The AI performance comparation at 5:36 is wrong! For 4090 value is provided for 8 bit quantization, but for 5090 it is 4bit quantization. For 8bit I would expect half of presented 5090 AI performance.

Retailer here. All the 4090s we've sold for the past 2 years all went to industrial users, not gamers. Because of this, I'll start treating the 5090 as a 'professional' level card instead of a gaming card

The best use case scenario for this tech is frame gen set to x2, dlss4 in quality mode, and reflex 2(whenever it arrives) turned on. At the end of the day all frames are computer generated so its a matter of frame quality.
