In a lot of tasks the 2048sp is actually worse than a 570. i had a 2048sp and upgraded to a 580 and got around 20 to 30 percent more performance in rendering and gameplay. I played destiny 2 most at the time and went from around 60fps average to over 144 average at 1080p high. It was like going form a 1050ti to a 1070ti. They completely neutered the specs for the 2048sp.

That part that y'all said about scamming hits hard for me. My manager at work "built" his first PC recently and got scammed about the fx 8350 being ryzen 8000 series chip, that his 1050 was a monster gfx card, that ssds are a scam, and that you only need 8GB of system ram. All were from different sellers. This is his first time stepping into PC gaming and I hated how he was treated. I dusted off some hardware and went to his house. Taught him how to build a proper PC and what to look for and why. Gave him a 4770k, 32GB of ram, msi overclockable mobo, 512 gb SSD, a proper 850w power supply from seasonic, a sapphire Vega 64 nitro+, and a Cryorig H7 cooler. Showed him what all the settings ment, how to do some basic troubleshooting, and how to look at temps and why it's important. Charged him nothing. Guy just wanted to game online with his son while he was going to college. Manager got scammed 850 USD for that hunk of junk. Guys it's important to be honest when reselling your stuff. We need to be better to each other and show people that PC gamers are not degenerates.

This isn't the normal RX 580, it's the cut down China only one which has decent performance differences (Believe it's the 2048SP version, which is similar in performance to an rx 570 or worse). The 580 is pretty old now but can still play a lot of modern games, definitely not a good value though.

@@username8644 My Rx580 is grand and was pretty affordable, at the time I bought it I wanted a 3060 but it wasn't going to happen. It was a great card given the budget and GPU drought back then. I still use it now and plan to keep it until it really struggles, but I've never encountered issues with my card like are shown in this video.

The 2048SP is very impressive, despite being almost identical in performance to a real RX 570 it can usually be overclocked to almost the same speed as a real 580.

@@username8644 To say that "the regular RX 580 wasn't a good card when it was new" shows that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It was an EXCELLENT card when it was new, and the performance relative to the GTX 10 series has actually aged better. An RX 580 can still play even most new games today, especially the 8GB version. It will also do a great job of playing pretty much any game other than the most recent and most demanding ones released in the last two years. For example, it can run Cyberpunk 2077 just fine, with properly optimized settings, and that's still a relatively demanding game even by today's standards.

Uh-oh googles terrible search strikes again - yes top result for rx580 drivers lists "Previous drivers" for some reason, but 24.3.1 came out in March - 24.7.1 was released in July but for some reason it's hidden on AMDs website, So yes it still gets updates but theyve split Polaris+Vega drivers away for bugfixes rather than new features

24.7.1 are not compatible with RX580, so the latest drivers for RX 580 are 24.3.1 which are relatively recent.

Hey guys, i think there is something worth mentioning. That GPU is an RX 580 2048SP (at least the one showed in amazon). This means that it has 256 less stream processors than a normal 580, making it almost an RX 570 with like a 40mhz higher boost clock. Either way it's still a chinese p.o.s (and buying a used one would make more sense), but that could explain worse performance than what you expected.

I love the Rx580, I got one 5 ueats ago for about 100 euro, for the games I play, elden ring, BG3 and monster Hunter world, it's handled everything like a champ. Although I can feel it starting to age it was an absolute beast especially with it's 8gb of VRam, that's what allowed it to keep chugging along all these years with modern games I recon.

I have the same case used here, I absolutely love it! The airflow is insane, i had no issues running an 11900KF and RTX 3080 which both are known to run hot! Having space for 360 rads up top and in front is also great.

Now, to the slight defense for Red Dragon on my end. i got a keyboard from them about 6 to 7 years ago. Its Named "HARPE" and the model is "K503". This keyboard has been through the ringer and back (falling on hard ground from high many times, etc), but somehow its still in a good condition. It literally only has fading on the keys due to constant use. The mouse lasted 4 years and the Headphones 3. It came as a pack, but i do agree that one should go for more prominent brands still.

@@m1stertim Fakespot doesn't help either if half of the reviews are genuine reviews that overhype something or people trying to make it look bad for X reason (like it often is the case if you go for "cheaper" end phones, especially if they're samsung - so many people that just expect a lower A model to perform the exact same as an S model) Hell, if it's phones specifically I just check how many people actually wrote about failure points (if they provide actual details) and consider them for the price it costs - everything else is just wasted time one way or the other - reviews simply are abused easily, no need to look further than people complaining about subscription traps in the reviews for serverhosts that don't want to admit that they've chosen the wrong option for what they wanted.

I think Linus did do a good job going over that point with highlighting some of the 1 star reviews and showing how they were pointless complaints like the "no screw included in the package" complaints. Some like the "missing mounting hardware" etc could be legit and Linus just got lucky, but working retail i can also attest to people not looking carefully and throwing away important things. To me the takeaway is to always take the 1 and 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. A bit of a digress, but I hate when people want to return an item and proceed to complain we won't accept the return without packaging that they threw away first minute lol.

But yes, most reviews are wasteful, but I also can't blame it as most people don't even review it and half of those that do just follow the link to review a product that often enough land in the inbox before the product even arrived (e.g. the silicon case we ordered for my girlfriends phone, ironically enough the package the next day didn't include that but tempered glass instead). But thats everywhere, I've also seen restaurant asking frequent customers to leave a review as some frequent customers leave negative ones just because a bun was in the oven for a tiny bit too long. I've personally only written 2 reviews in my life, one being for flixbus changing the ticket and removing reserved seats 30 minutes before the drive (didn't write a 2nd one for just changing reserved seats to different ones an hour before departing on the way back for the specific reason of it being pointless), the other one for a serverhost that doesn't exist nowadays anymore but that I've used for years to counter the "subscription trap and the pre-paid would be a lie" reviews from people who've chosen a contract instead of the pre-paid option. Fully understand the return thing tho, keeping packaging and especially the recipe is absolutely important (unless you don't care about refunds), loads of people just don't get it.

You should look closely at your water block mounting then. I run a dual tower air cooler, only one of the fans on now because of changing out the RAM and have not gotten around to remounting the other fan, top temp playing Destiny 2 is 75c. It's all too easy to have the water block not get good contact in some places if one corner gets tightened too much before the other three.

Yeah it's a bit of a hot boy. Mine gets around the 80C range under full sustained load with a NH-D15S with second (non-Noctua) fan added, that's with a PBO of 130/85/120.

I don't find that monitor sketchy at all honestly, lots of smaller monitor brands will have a monitor available for a limited time because they bought up some hardware at a discount. When they run out of that stock they can usually use a similar part that they can order but not at the same price so the model number changes slightly and the price (usually) goes up. I have a monitor made by "Viotek" and when I bought it, it was a crazy good deal. About a week after receiving the monitor, I could no longer find it on their site but something with a similar model name seemingly replaced it. About the same time LG changed up how they sell panels to 3rd parties so whatever they then had limited panels but probably had tons of other parts that they didn't want to go to waste, so replacing that panel with something else with similar specs was all they could do, other than eat the cost.

Only complaint I have about this video: The keyboard and mouse. Been using red dragon for many years now, and I have this exact keyboard and mouse. This is an RX 580 2048SP version, which has fewer shader cores, lower GPU clock frequency, and lower VRAM bandwidth, than the normal 2304SP version. It's basically a slightly overclocked RX 570, not a real RX 580.

I'm using ReDragon Perdition 2 mouse and K618 Wireless slim mechanical keyboard and I even changed the switches from blue to red. I'm so pleased with this keyboard that I'd rather buy another keyboard if this were to break , than any logitech , corsair or other more popular brands. Not many slim , aluminium face plate/frame full numpad keyboards with short mechanical switches that work like charm, 20 macro keys, fully customizable individual RGB backlight per key and a volume wheel this thing is all I need. It even has 3 different connection types. 3x BT + 2.4g Dongle + USB-C Cable . You CAN NOT Beat that for the price I got it for. The mouse, isn't anything special but it's one of those MMO mice with 12 customizable keys. It's not wireless but it works for me and it fits my needs.

I bought that keyboard and mouse combo for my son 2 years ago and it's still working fine. He was 9 years old when he got it and was so excited about the look and feel.
