glad to see shure still pushing on with advancements in tech, I remember when the e500 in ears came out and I had 2 pairs both of which suffered cracking cases and hardening wires that split, the sound was shures typical warm signature with the best mids in the industry, so rich in sound. then they dropped the se500 and se535 which I had next with no cracking cables or shells but the armatures would rattle with deep bass at higher volumes even tho it was the same e500 setup. I hated that so brought the sony mdr ex1000's which were significantly more expensive but my gosh they sounded amazing even going back to traditional drivers, even then and at that price there was sibilance in the highs. at this time a few years back I was totally and completely addicted to headphones and head-fi.org, I went through an unprecedented amount of in ears, westone w40's, UE triple fi 10's to custom ultimate ears like ue10pro's, thankfully I got married, had kids and left headphones behind in exchange for pc gaming lol I only wish today I didn't have adult problems and I could splash cash on earphones like these, thanks for bringing back some nice memories and a new wave of jealousy!

Shure (or, Shure Brothers as us old-timers still call it) is a manufacturer of pro-grade audio gear. They've never really made a lot of consumer-level gear. The amp pack, the LEMO connector, and the huge price is familiar to any of us who have used Shure pro audio stuff. I've got to believe that this product is a derivative of some really high-end, niche pro product they for some special purpose. (Think space program, or intel.)

Most people don't get people who buy expensive headphones/earphones or other audio equipment but as an audio enthusiast, I do have to say it is worth getting something a bit high end. @YourMomDotCom19 not, i'm just saying that if humanity could ever be able to make a consumer product with perfectly linear frequency response over all audio range (say 1HZ to 100KHz) it could be described with a single number like: "0 rollover over all frequencies" or "10dB/mV in the full frequency range at max volume" or something like that, drawing a graph would be pointless. of course we will not reach that.
@grzegorzszymanski66876 жыл бұрын
@@noname_atall Actually frequency response is commonly specified like this 40 - 22000 Hz +/- 4 dB. However in case if any type of headphones it doesn't make any sense to specify it like that. Are you sure? Because the combined MSRP of my entire HK rack was about $800 in the mid 80s. A lot of that stuff costs significantly more now than it did when it was new. I mean, my mom has a set of Infinity speakers and a Pioneer turntable that she bought in college with fast food restaurant wages in the late 70s and still had enough to pay rent, put gas in her car, buy weed, AND pay all of her college tuition and not take out loans. Sure the turntable alone is worth $600 now but back then it was...well, not cheap, but nowhere near $3000, her V8 Duster wasn't even that much.

I have an LG V20, with a "quad-dac", also a FiiO X1 + FiiO Q1 combo. what's special about the FiiO X1 is that is has a "line out" output option, which is a very high level signal, used for being transmitted between audio devices. It's better to do all the processing on this signal - amplification, effects etc. Your mobile doesn't have the option of getting the line out signal on the headphone jack.

I still have a V20 and its sound quality is great. Before I got my amp, it was the best way to get the most out of each and every one of my headphones (it can even drive my 300Ω HD 6XX!). Here's one thing to keep in mind, if you're looking for an on-the-go solution, there will be noise almost wherever you are, so you better opt for ANC, like the B&W PX (haven't tried it, but I heard it's good), as shown in this video or Sennheiser's PXC-550 (my pick out of the ANC headphones bunch) and save your money to buy the expensive stuff for home listening, where you can take the time to enjoy your music without as much interference from the external world.
