calling linux trash or a cult because you dont know how to use it is a bit unfair. windows tracks everything you do and is even making ai in 11 to snapshot every 3 seconds. linux installs and updates in 10 minutes tops. window 11 takes 15 minutes to install and over 30 for updates then you have to install drivers.

Not saying it's user error (although it could be) but the iso install could have failed, the writing of the iso to the drive could have failed, the install of the os could have failed, shit happens. Edit: Actually, thinking about it.. Are you just a Microsoft or Google employee or something? This just sounds like typical employee nonsense speak. This is such a load of shit lmao. Let's be real here, no modern system is good. You even admit you run Windows 7 over Windows 10, Win7 was in reality the last good OS made and even that was shit. People on Linux aren't deprived, people on Windows aren't deprived, the only people really being deprived are Mac users and even that's debatable lmao. You go on about the abuse from Linux but sound like you worship Windows/Microsoft which of whom has completely dropped support for anything before Windows 10 and are going to be dropping Windows 10 support next year and provides just as little support as the Linux side of things, all of your points are 1:1 with Windows/Microsoft issues lmao. Your way of thinking is incredibly wrong and flawed, just because a system from 20+ years ago isn't supported doesn't mean the program isn't free, it just means it isn't supported. Funny enough most modern Windows programs won't run on older Windows systems anymore either, if the program is made with anything beyond .NET Framework 4.5 it won't work on older systems. C++ programs depend on the program, same for any other non-web app programs. Hell all of those driver complaints are a load too, the only bad shoddy drivers would be the community made Nvidia drivers which are now a thing of the past as Nvidia released open source drivers, switching to those my problems disappeared overnight. My only other issue is getting 5.1 surround sound working which I still struggle with, but Windows doesn't do any better, I have to use Voicemeeter to get 5.1 audio. Does Linux crash? Yes, but so does Windows. Windows crashes a lot more and runs far slower, so much to the point I often get angry and just switch over to my Linux install to finish whatever I was doing/working on.

Thats what I was thinking, wouldn't surprise me if he's a Microsoft or google employee, the only Linux distro I'd consider shady is ubuntu but aside from that he defintently seems bias, also writing this you do have a very good point, the whole line up of modern windows is terrible and flawed. I'm a heavy linux user and I'm not deprived, there is workarounds on linux too everything, this really is a load of bullshit, windows is just a pain in the ass that is very rarely useful when it weighs the computer down and uses all the recourses when some linux distros will run on a potato or a computer powered by a fuckin hamster wheel, linux also doesn't spy on you or really steal all your data and you don't get auto updates and also you get updates more often for linux aswell depending on the distro

But once Win10 support is dropped I'm switching to full on Linux.. I use both, I'll miss a lot of my stuff on Windows, but I've made up my mind and for the stuff I miss, I could always just load up a VM lol. @Leylandcars123 If Linux works fine for your needs, then by all means, stay there. I would say that Windows 7 is the only and last real desktop computer operating system, but Windows 10 can be adapted to be used as a Windows 7. I had gotten used to how easy it's to change the file view in Windows 7, but I have also figured out how to do that on Windows 10 just as easily. 1, click on the view tab, 2, pick the view type. Same 2 mouse clicks. I always use the start to launch my apps, and I have 6 rows of 7 app each, or a total of 42 apps pinned on my start menu in Windows 10 that I can open in less than 1 second using 2 mouse clicks, and this is an improvement to my Windows 7 start menu. Of course, I prefer the Windows Aero design more.

I switched to Linux a few weeks ago after 30+ years of Windows because Windows 10, and especially Windows 11, is nothing but a giant piece of shit adware/spyware with an interface that prevents you from making your computer look and operate the way you want it to. I switched to Linux Mint Cinnamon and the transition was seamless and painless. My only regret is not making the switch sooner. I should have switched when Windows 7 support ended.

30+ years is clearly a false claim. Windows 10 is only 9 years old. If you have been using Windows for 30+ years, then the first OS you were using is Windows 3.1 in 1994. It doesn't add up right. This video is literally me showing you how to make it as much as I want it to be. If you are really a 30+ years Windows user, you should know how to do a registry edit to customize your interface. Windows 10/11 is literally highly customizable. If you are happy, then stay in your penguin cave.

@@flyandacexo6852 The Commodore VIC-20 was my first computer in 1982 and I progressed from there. Windows 3.1 and WFW 3.11 were OK. OS/2 Warp was a valiant attempt but didn't gain main stream acceptance due to Microsoft's under handed tactics. Windows NT 4 (except SP5), 2000 Pro, XP Pro and 7 Pro and Ultimate were great OS's. Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, Vista, 8, 8.1 were all horrendously unstable. Windows 10 with ClassicShell or OpenShell is usable but the constant printing issues are a pain in the ass. Windows 11 out right sucks because Microsoft has decided they will decide what your UI will look and feel like and if you try to use ExplorerPatcher they will keep breaking it with each update and even went so far as to force AntiVirus companies to flag it as a virus. Comparing the little customization that can be accomplished with registry edits to what is possible in Linux is laughable and can be reversed by Microsoft with an update that they decide will just overwrite your edits. Windows 11 is a giant piece of adware/spyware now that phones home with your data they have no need to collect. One should not have to put up with seeing ads in an operating system they pay for. Linux is free and is ad free. I've sold, used and supported every Microsoft desktop and server OS since 1994 from Windows 3.1 onward so I do know how to customize, tweak and fix things via the registry. Windows 11 has created a mass migration to Linux for home users. Microsoft will have a stranglehold on the business side until someone can make a compatible Active Directory solution which isn't likely to happen any time soon.

@DrD6452 Windows 11 is not that bad, but I personally recommend 10. Keep in mind that you are from the past, and the world has moved on. Today's computer is more about touch screens, and to be extremely fair, Windows 11 is doing a great job making it easier for touch screen users to control their computer with ease. I am not a touch screen computer user, but I can still understand the various decisions that Microsoft has made. Windows 11 is better for a touch screen user. If updates reverse your mods, then you can easily write a batch script to reverse the reversal back. It's not that hard to do, and then you can disable auto-updater. Maybe the LTSC version is your answer. I don’t see any ads in Windows 10. Where are the ads? I don’t use its edge browser. It has no space to show me any ads. Privacy is also an over exaggeration. You are using Google, right? Everything that you do is recorded in Google’s servers. You use the internet, right? You are being tracked by Google anyway even if you don’t have a Google’s account. Your IP is exposed to Google because most websites use google analytics. Even if you are using VPN, big data with AI is still possible to track your every move, so privacy is not something that you can have nowadays anyway. Last but not least, there are 1.6 billion active windows users, if MS is really spying on them, it would cost them a huge amount of resource, so spying claim is a conspiracy that can be easily debunked.

Firstly, if you don't plan on paying for a windows license there is no point in using it. Secondly, there really isn't such a thing as a trash OS, everything depends on what software you care for and how well the available operating systems support it. Using operating systems that are near or past their end of life is really just a pointless exercise for most users. As for Windows it isn't really about the privacy and security but the fact that the system feels lackluster compared to many Linux distros, that do offer easier setup in a lightweight package of useful tools that unlike Microsoft's are free, and even though free doesn't necessarily mean better, for most students or people on budget it will be the better option. For the 16 year-olds who still wanna play their League of legends and Valorant, Windows is going to be put on a pedestal, for the average user though it really doesn't matter what OS they use, the people who review Linux on KZbin are not average users.

I'd say it depends on your "work". I personally have no issues as I can still use Blender, Rider (and other JetBrains products), and I even have options for video editing, the only thing I'd say I'm missing personally is photo editing software.. Maybe audio software but I've not checked that area yet, I probably should as I'll need it soon too. Games also work amazingly now with the use of Proton and the official open source Nvidia drivers so long as you don't go with ones with anti-cheats, hell in my personal experiences games are actually running BETTER than on Windows now, I've never seen such stable and high framerates before, it actually makes me play worse lmao. The only problem with games however is sometimes they require a bit of work/setup to get running but most of the times they just work out of the box now! So I'd say it really depends on what you want to do and the type of things you want to do, very little doesn't work right in my personal experience. My main issue currently is getting 5.1 surround sound working.. I had it working before, had an update, it's not working now and I can't figure out why.

You should be a little more specific as Linux is merely a kernel; which distribution are you talking about, which Desktop Environment or Windows Manager (scratch that, in my opinion, you need to stay away from something like i3 as you are incapable of getting something as simple as Debian running properly). What's the hardware that you're using? What software are you using and/or what software is it that you need to use? (a good deal of open source software is available on Linux Distros, Mac, and Windows). What is the system being setup for? In fact you should do a video on some of these installation processes to show why, in your opinion, the distro in question is garbage. Don't get me wrong, all of the distros have their issues where there are a lot of factors involved; however, Windows and Mac have there own issues. Back to Linux being, in your words "trash," I would beg to differ as most of the Internet and Servers run off of Linux and it seems to be working without issues. Since Windows is so great, you should make a video tutorial on how one can easily and officially install/upgrade to Windows 11 on a device lacking the TPM 2.0. Next, you should do another easy tutorial on how one can harden the Windows OS to the point of where it will stop re-enabling the invasive features in question (i.e., how to permanently harden the system). Do a tutorial on how to disable locked invasive features or modifiable feature that are allowed in the business edition but locked in the home edition. Lastly, Linux is not trash, it is only trash to you via your opinion. You sound like a Microsoft shill.

I am sorry to think this but a distro might have failed you one time and you think that all distro are like that first of all we say it is the best mostly because of native support of drivers better than windows and yes people in the linux community including my self have different opinion about distributions but in the end all of the other distors are just a fork of either arch or debain with packaging for users to be easy. You can take any distro and make it behave like the other one. I understand that people do not have the patience to read documentation to solve the issue they are encountering and that is fine and that is the only reason that people hate linux they think they can solve anything with a few clicks with out reading docs. Respectfully I believe linux is not meant for everyone and it is ok to not switch. But there are many reason that we say t is the best usually once you set up everything correctly no matter what happens it is much harder to exploit. But again let us be real for a second as a comparison saying one is better than the other is inherently wrong. It is all a matter of preference so u can choose what every u want and I myself want linux to grow and that is done by showing its advantages for example driver support is better on linux except nvidia which is narrowing down it is true that adobe software and some proprietary software don't work and also games with kernel level anti cheats. We say it is the best because we can have our machine behave as we want it and we have better performance non the less it still has its own quirk as well. But recently it has been good straight out of the box but still it has its own issue and they way windows is trying to push windows 11 with ai and on top of that recall and no data privacy is not ok. For most people that don't matter. It is just that people don't like sth they are not familiar with so they hate it. If I am wrong correct me i would like to hear your side of the story.

My biggest gripe with Microsoft/Windows is that Windows 11 will not run on most of my current computers. I have about 10 computers for work and personal use, and only one runs Windows 11, and another one is Windows 11 capable. The rest don't have TPM and can't run Windows 11. I've already switched two of those computers to Linux Mint, and they work just fine. One hosts my DAS storage array to make it available on my LAN, and the other is just a regular PC for everyday use. I'll be switching the rest of my remaining PCs, which are currently running Windows 10 to Linux, closer to the end of support for Windows 10 in October 2025. I can't afford to replace all these machines with new Windows 11 machines.

TPM can be a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. If Windows 11 doesn't work, then you can install Windows 10 or even 7, but it's really easy to bypass TPM. Ultimately it really depends on what you need your computers to do. If browsing the internet is the only thing that you need, then Linux can be a doable option, but an android tablet would be a better option. End of support means nothing. I am still using Windows 7 fine. Windows 10 would work fine for the next 10 years.

Why are you calling Linux trash? I used to be a Windows hardcore user and have switched to Linux as it is more user friendly easier to use and more compatible for the everyday user than Windows. I tried lots of different Distro's or flavours if you like of Linux, Arch may be a bit too much for someone like you, but Ubuntu or Mint or even Zorin OS would be a good start to try. Zorin allows you to run a lot of Windows games and Apps in Linux, not all of them. Maybe actually do some real research before going all out and trashing some thing you know little about. Some big differences between Linux and Windows is Linux is open source free software mostly, some distros like Red hat cost money. Free Open source software means you have access to the code and can see if any spyware or telemetry is acting like a bad actor on the OS. Where Windows is proprietary so can put what ever it want in its OS without disclosing to you what it is doing. Windows cost money and also tends leave zero day vulnerabilities active on the OS without a fix for up to 10 years some times. As they have you're money and private data so do not really care about you as a consumer. I think you should be a little more open to maybe if you like gaming use Steam OS or even Android desktop versions. there are more OS's than Windows, Linux or Mac OS.

When a person is unable to use something, they always tend to disparage it. Before judging, one must first learn to understand and use it, and only then provide an objective evaluation. Giving your video a title like that shows ignorance and a provocative attitude. I can confidently say that I have used almost all versions of Windows and Mac: from Windows 3.11 in 1993 to the current version 11. Then I started with Mac OS X Leopard in 2006 up to Mac OS Mojave. Throughout all these years, I have never allowed myself to disparage any operating system, least of all Windows or Mac. This is because everyone should feel comfortable with their computer. Today, I use Linux Manjaro with the GNOME 47.2 desktop environment, and I’m very satisfied because I took the time to learn how to use it and gathered information on how to adapt it to my needs. So to take revenge on the decision they've made, i switched to Linux, best decision i've ever made. So, if you prefer Windows, i respect you but don't make any Windows fanboyism like you did. And because of your fanboyism i had more fun watching the comments than watching the video, you're literally just installing drivers and saying that "linux users are brainwashed developpers" you sound more like the brainwashed, no OS is perfect, use what suits you but don't harrass the others for using what they want, sure linux has less drivers support but if you say that drivers are garbage on linux because the developers are brainwashed trash, just to let you know that the developers are alone, that's why the drivers is "garbage" (we're looking at you nvidia) they put all their time into that driver, and you insult them by saying they're brainwashed?! And i'm not even sure if you're actually a Microsoft employee, i don't think Microsoft is the type of company for hiring a person with negative braincells... And since there's lots of misinformation in this video, i might report this video, even if that wouldn't work, i could say that i tried. I used Windows since 3.1 to Windows 7. Linux since since Slackware 3.1 till today (partially dual booting). Mac on my laptop. They are all exceptional tools, each with its own upsides and downsides. Just try all for yourself. Don't get brainwashed by anybody.

@MirkoVukusic I may be an award winning writer, but I am still human. Should I be emotionless when witnessing evil being done to people while being helpless in helping them? Then when realizing that I have typed 2000+ words, I wanted to wrap it up quickly without being dragged on forever. It’s not that I lost my ability to elaborate my objective further because there is literally no objective at all. Very ironically, you want people to skip this, while you are promoting that “try it yourself” mentality. Do you really want people to try it themselves or not? If so, you should not have asked them to skip this video. Let them try watching themselves. You don’t want people getting brainwashed, yet you are trying to brainwash them. Trying Linux would involve a lot of learning and time consumption, as you have pointed out my lack of knowledge about Linux. In order to use Linux, you would be required to acquire a significant amount of knowledge. My suggestion, don’t bother at all. Be a W user and use Windows instead.

I've been using Linux Mint for three years now, and will NEVER go back to Windows. I'm certainly no computer nerd and the learning curve for Linux was easier than I thought. The usability is so far superior to Windows that it's not funny. No auto updates that leave you hanging for hours, no bloatware that slows the computer down, etc. Linux is clean crisp and fast. I've just loaded my old horribly slow windows laptop with Linux Mint, now it's like a new machine.

Typical falsehood, Windows is very slow, and installing Linux magically makes it super fast. That is an obvious lie. If your CPU paste is dried, and its CPU fan is clogged, nothing will make it fast. Software will not solve the problem of the hardware.

i recently tried linux mint after hearing good things about it and jesus christ it sucks. Absolutely nothing works and the average pro linux user just accepts that they will have to fenagle and tweak shit until a program barely halfway runs. I can respect it as a cut down operating system for older tech and servers, but as a consumer operating it sucks ass. I just wanna play games and mess around. I don't have the will to learn how to code just to get things working.

Really? I've had Linux mint seamlessly install on every device I've tried it on including some mid 2000s notebooks Everything pretty much worked out the box for the older hardware but the newer stuff did have some minor issues that was solved with some googling. Out of curiosity, what device (or specs) did you install mint onto?

My grandma has had no issues. What "coding" did you have to learn to open KZbin?

I tried Mint a couple years ago and and if I chose encryption when installing it failed to boot. I installed Mint recently and Redshift doesn't work. On Windows Bitlocker works perfectly and you can do it whenever you want unlike on Mint, and Nightlight is built in and works. See it's these very basic things that fail that make me not use Linux, I don't want to learn how to make these things work.

@flyaway6671 don’t get influenced by these brainwashed angry nerds. Very typical lie of saying that “ their 8 year old grandson and 80 year old grandpa can use Linux without absolutely any problem, so it must be your problem.” Stay with Windows and be happily ever after.

Wrong, wrong... WRONG!!!!! Did you date your laptop or something? u seem a little too invested in your 'La-Novo' ... ya seem kinda JADED towards LINUX that all mighty Tux! Look you are correct about AVERAGE BASIC versions of linux.... but..... DID YOU TRY ARCH LINUX! A.K.A STEAM OS!!!!!!??? It is VERY UP TO DATE! Especially the Graphics driver! and yes i know it's for a gaming handheld but it's built on ARCH LINUX! Which i argue is easier to use and more productive then windows! also i wouldnt worry too much about VIRUSES! LOL I'D PUT A STEAM DECK UP AGAINST UR LENOVO ANY DAY OF THE WEAK AND THATS A BASIC LINUX PC WITH JUST A CUSTOM APU AND DDR5!!!!! LMAO
