Wild Mountain Gwendy honestly it goes and comes I think with his taking down of prey. (Blondie has been known to take zebra on 2 separate occasions, in the past on Chitwa Chitwa, by himself). He looked in fantastic condition on Londolozi but then after one of their buffalo kills- limping again. Sorry for long answer but I just love that cat.

Yea man, I’m worried for my boy Nguvu. I had seen in a video months ago that supposedly him & HB are kinda friendly w/ each other. I see how he interacts with the other lions, he's just,, diplomatic, tough, honorable, diligent, trustworthy, fair, and he has kept himself up even after the death of his forever brother. If anyone hurts Old HairyBelly or King Othawa I will...I will....errr....personally fly down there and tell them that they are being very bad lions!! So there! 😤😤. Old HB just needs one more year and Junior Othawa can lead the Matimba Sub-Adults out...one more year... After that, I will have used my not-small money stash to build a totally non-controversial new center called a Lion King Retirement Home. Here, Old Kings can relax by the pool with a gin and tonic and listen to swing music, or go inside and watch reruns of their exploits. Steaks on the Barbie every day. Games at 7. Movie nights on Wednesdays. 🍿 At least let me have this fantasy for HB 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hairy Belly has soo much experience, the subs are very lucky to have an adult male like him being present in their day to day life, learning invaluable info {the good, bad & ugly} from him, along with patience & social skills that the subs will take with them on dispersal/nomadic life. HB & bros were an amazing street smart coalition & held strong in their early days, even survived well during the Mopogo era. The Matimbas were bad azz. I know they'll do well, having genetics from the strong family oriented Othawa females, BBOYS genetics, and a step dad as famous as Hairy Belly raising them. I think these Othawa subs are going to be all around, grounded, good lions, phenomenal leaders, a true asset to SS.. .👑

@@Thekellin1 it's hard to say how long he's got. He looks to be in great shape. At his age, every day is such a blessing for the whole pride. We don't know what's going to happen in the next few months, but if you read Londolozi report on aug.18 2020, there's a lot of info there. It surprised me & my perspective of the 'change' that's inevitable. Seems HB is still holding ground against 3 mystery nomads for now tho! Grateful for that...

I still can not believe Hairy belly held on to power for so long. He needs to hold the territory another year, so that gingers sons make it but the daughter is old enough now. Even if Hb falls, she will be tolerated and matimba genes will live in the Othawa pride. Still, Hb is not done yet. He held his ground once and he will do it again. The kambula pride will most likely split again. Next year, the number of lionesses will reach 21. No way they can stay together

3 Nomads now have a coalition name of the Tumbela Coalition. Both Matimba and Othawa males have a big threat at the with these 3 young boys near both their territories. Southern Avocas are doing great at the moment with 3 prides under their control and even if the 3 northern Avocas are apart their still thriving. N'was Males are getting bigger by the minute.these dynamics will continue to change in the coming months.

Few interesting information you missed out on in Central Sabi Sands. The Birminghams and Kambula chased the Nkuhuma and Avoca, the Plains Camp Breakaway and the Fourways Pride and their dominant males in under 24hrs. They also have been venturing into Othawa Males territory from the South East and have gone North into Avoca territory on occasions as well. Apparently there was a small interaction between the Nkuhuma and Kambula and one Nkuhuma lioness looked injured afterwards. There was also 2 other young males in North Mala Mala, the rangers haven't seen them recently but the last they saw them, 1 looked like he had been mauled and 1 Birmingham and Kambula were in the area.

That isn’t quite what they said and far as chasing the Nkuhumas and the Avoca. The exact time you are referring to The Rangers said they were on a buffalo kill in Mala Mala which they showed us in a further video. Animals on a kill don’t sound like chased animals especially if one takes in the direction all that took place. Just using common sense here. Plus a little bias too lol

My friends have done some whisker pattern comparisons and we have come to the conclusion that the 2 Unknown males are the sons of the famous duo Stompie and One Eye, they were born in the Othawa pride in 2002/2001 and were sent into nomadic life by the Mapogos. Stompie and One Eye dominated the Plains Camp pride until One eye was killed by other male lions, Stompie then took his 2 sons with him, and those 2 sons are the now dominant males of the Fourways and Torchwood pride

Mapogo's offspring sadly were very unlucky. Two of Mapogo's sons (Othawa M & T) survived until adulthood then crossed in to Kruger which was the last time they were spotted. Most likely killed or poached. Mapogo's daughters (Othawa pride) are there only offspring that are still around. I might be wrong on that so don't be mad if someone corrects me.

i won't happen . There are 2 prides that ready for take over either they will tackle the Othawa male to get the mangheni pride or the old but dangerous Birmingham boys/gowrie to have the prize Ntsevu/Kambhula pride. for now they will forget Avocas and Nkuhuma pride they still in their prime, maybe in 2years they can take it. most probably the great old old old matimba will die at old age.

Did you listen? Matimba chase them away from his territory. Hairy Belly might be old but he has alot of battle experience unlike Othawa male. Hairy Belly might have done enough to keep those youngsters away from his territory for a while and keep them in Othawa turf.

@@toby772 Chasing nomadic lions away doesn't mean anything. It happens all the time. It's about sizing up the competition. Matimba is old. It's natural for younger lions to come in, kill or chase away the old male, and take over.
