I told you this 3 month ago not all lions are tossing there sons out Dark mane keep his sons with him and the sons are 4 Now he is in londolize with his other sub adult lions have to be like the Great King Notch train up your sons to be militants. Daddy know they getting older and New Nomadic Male lions will defeated him He is a very wise lion ?what is the king name and pride name? It's been so long since I've heard about dm . With the imbali male pushing in , i hope dm forms some kind of coalition with his sons. Dark Mane was always a skittish lion, never one to confront things head on , unlike Mohawk

I think ideally, they should both abandon the pride and chase a new one, so they would both mate with unrelated females. If they stay, the son would indeed reproduce with mothers and sisters. I dont think females will reject their sons, but I may be wrong... I believe they only do so to please the dominant male, and this is why the dominant kicks the new males out as soon as they become mature.

At the moment the son is still the lesser partner in the coalition so he won’t have mating rights, he is also still a few years away from full sexual maturity. The coalition might also not hold as we suspect the dominant male is keeping him around due to pressure from the nomad - we will have to see what happens.

This is so interesting. It seems more and more father son coalitions are being documented. I though this was lions of Sabi sands the Birmingham’s male lion and his nephew.

He's pretty big for a young male the question now is the question now is are the females in the father and son pride sisters half sisters aunts and and mother to this young male? At some point the son of the father and son tag team will want to mate with one of the females in the pride. And while daddy's not looking he will try to do that and the question is will he be mating with a lioness he is related to?

At the moment the northern pride is run by a coalition of 3 males - so that is not likely. The farther son coalition might only be short term - we will have to wait and see what happens.
