Fun fact. If you ever see “Coming to America” James earl Jones and his wife in the movie, played by Madge Sinclair are the king and queen. They both actually voiced the king and queen in this movie as well. Mufasa and Sarabi

This movie is a timeless classic. It has universal themes of family, tragedy, betrayal, confrontation, redemption and the balance of nature itself. It gets better with each viewing.

My whole family saw this movie in the theater, it was a big event for everyone - great example of a movie that can entertain all ages. It also has the added bonus of the epiphany that it's basically Hamlet with animals once you get a little older😛

This is my earliest memory. I was born in 90, it was in possibly preschool, however it was a field trip to watch this movie in theater with parents. I remember crying prior because my mom was running late due to work. She made it though. I was 4

One of the best classics ever. It is based on Hamlet. It is dark and funny also every moment is unique in this film. Mufasa has a extremely low pitched resounding voice, while Simba looks more youthful and has a gentler voice. Nala is one of the best - she is perfect complement to Simba. Mufasa reminds me of Aslan - very protective, strong and wise King. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It doesn't matter how many times I've seen the movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Also, this movie is loosely based on William Shakespeare's story Hamlet, where a jealous younger sibling murders his older brother to become king.

From Lion King to Hunchback of Notre Dame was Disney's peak when it came hand animated films. They are still absolutely stunning to look. Lion King was first film I saw in movie theaters and first one I watched in theaters more thna Once. It was reason why our family even got VCR because I wanted so badly Lion King VHS. I was so hooked in Lion king. Partially still am all these years.

I used to cry every time i saw Mufasas death until i was like 19 but now i'm sad but at the same time think that Timon and Pumba were great dads for him. They look so proud looking at Simba when he grows up, and they are so understanding and supporting 😭😭😭

When I first began my career as a Spanish teacher, Disney and Pixar were two of the first film companies to regularly include a dubbed Spanish audio track on DVDs. (Remember DVDs? After VHS and before streaming media. I still have a vast movie collection on DVD.) Movies like The Lion King and Toy Story were great to show to my Spanish classes because the kids had likely already seen them in English and knew the plots and songs. When I played them with the Spanish audio track and English subtitles, the kids got to hear the target language with the safety net of the subtitles to help them follow the story line. For most of the movies I showed in class, I only remember how the Spanish actors' voices sound and the Spanish lyrics to the songs. It still sounds a little "off" to me when I watch them in English. I still sing "El Ciclo Sin Fin" and "Quiero Ya Ser Rey" instead of "The Circle of Life" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King".

baahubali was the first indian film i watched. it was amazing. crazy long though considering its 2 parts like almost 6 hours. I thought RRR was amazing too. I've been wanting to find more to watch but when I try to search movies I just see lots of romance looking results which I dont think I would like as much plus i have to be in the mood for a lot of reading. subtitle movies can be rough

One thing that I love about Scar's death: The whole movie is about responsibility, and what it means to be brave. And it's Scar's own cowardly attempt to dodge his responsibility for his actions that ends up killing him.

I am the original Simba I know that the young Simba was cocky but I was 4 or 5 years old when first time watching it. And Timon and Pumba are my real friends. Donavon White is Timon and Laurence Green is Pumba. I am what I am.
