Aggressiveness
The gorilla generally has a peaceful and calm temperament, seldom showing aggressive behavior. Most gorilla violence is directed towards other gorillas.
I'm sure if the gorilla meets a lion, it won't be calm. Lions can be extremely aggressive and have been seen hunting hyenas, killing them and not eating their prey.
Bite Force
Gorilla jaw strength is extraordinary which makes their bite very powerful. Their bite force is almost double than that of a lion.
They have 32 teeth like humans. The bite strength of a gorilla is about 1300 PSI. The bite strength of a lion is 650 PSI. However, lions are very agile and have advanced bite reflexes.
Runnig
Lions can run 50 mph. Because of their lack of stamina, lions can only reach top speeds in short bursts. A gorilla can only run at speeds of 25 mph.
Of course it's hard to run with that much weight.
Intelligence
Gorillas are considered highly intelligent. Gorillas can laugh, grieve, have "rich emotional lives", develop strong family bonds, make and use tools, and think about the past and future.
Lions are quite intelligent...For example: lion recognize the gunpowder smell. If a lion smells gunpowder, it will shy away from a man, but if it doesn't it may attack a man, if it is hungry enough.
Energy Level
Lions spend much of their time resting, often up to 20 hours per day. They use the remaining time to hunt and fight.
Gorillas are generally calm and passive animals, however, the Silverback will defend his troop if he feels threatened.
Strength
gorillas are strong because when compared to humans a gorilla is about 9 times stronger than a average man.
Lion has a body that is built for them to be fast and agile. lion has 58.8% muscle mass.
a Silverback gorilla can lift up to 815 kilograms and human can lift a maximum of only 410 kilograms.

That’s just a bullshit estimate from Guinness based off a source on Chimp strength, although there is no way to determine the lifting power of Gorillas that way, as that Chimp source involved them pulling horizontally on a Dynamometer, which is vastly different compared to lifting. Chimps are no stronger than normal Human males, and Gorillas are lb for lb weaker than Chimps. They are still lb for lb slightly stronger than normal Human males, and for an animal the size of a Gorilla.....that’s exceptional, but not really special in the animal kingdom.

Gorillas bite force is not enough to give it an advantage over a bigger bite in general and its arm force is not enough to give it an advantage over a more deadly claw. Gorillas would flee against a cat that size giving purpose to its climbing ability but nature did not intend on these two animals being competitive in the first place. Watch two gorillas fighting and then watch two lions fighting and the aftermath, lions always walk away half dead from 7” puncture wounds from teeth and deadly claws, gorillas simply retreat.

Stamina and endurance would favor the lion.. not to mention the claws as a VERY real bonus advantage. I would see this fight play out like a heavy puncher vs a long distance tactician with many skills. At the end of the day, the lion would come out on top. The gorilla is a one trick pony and would have to endure claws made to shred large amounts of flesh as well as the teeth, agility and long amounts of energy. It would be too much for the gorilla. If the gorilla didn't do something right off the bat to Limit the response of the lion he would stand a very small chance of winning.

Gorilla is impressive but it has no chance against lion. Myabe a male Gorilla could defeat a female lion, but male vs male, impossible. Gorilla may have a big strength advantage and big IQ advantage, however if it doesn’t use this IQ in preparation for the fight, like planing tactics, weapons, etc, it is check mate. Lion is way quicker both offensively and defensively and it has FIVE flesh-cutting weapons. Gorilla has ONE, which is its bite. I think Silver black gorillas are powerful to fight a lion. Not all gorillas can fight. Silver black gorilla is powerful than lion but when coming to hunting I'm not sure of it. I think it depends on who got the FIRST STRIKE. If a lion goes with killing intent and runs and hits Gorilla and catches neck then lion will win. Then gorilla may threw lion with hands but lion can wait until it fell unconscious. But if gorilla use his all resources like intelligence, arm powers,climbing trees then Gorilla can win easily. Or maybe just his arms are enough if it can catch lion in time.

Male lion is about 100-300lbs heavier than the gorilla. Lifting doesn't matter when the lion has 10 claws in you, lions aren't dead weight. Silverback gorillas are gentle and rarely fight. Lions hunt and fight all the time. Majority of the time, the lion will win.

I hope we never get to see. Both Animals are Extremely important on this earth. The Lion teaches us that we must be persistent and survive. The Gorilla teaches us that Family comes first and that sometimes force is necessary to protect the family. I'm so glad we did not get to see the bloody killing of either animal fighting together. But unless the cat got a jump on a gorilla. I believe a gorilla would snap a cats neck in a heartbeat.

(Sorry for my english) I don’t think a lion could win a gorilla easily. A male lion struggle to kill hyenas, who are smaller and weaker than a gorilla. Even for a strong male lion, kill a 150kg gorilla with strong arms and big fangs wouldn’t be easy. I think if a lion attack a gorilla the feline will retreat after few minutes of fight.
