My heart really goes out to warthogs...I have no clue how they even manage to survive in Africa to be honest. All the other prey animals there either have speed or size to their advantage but the warthog isn't gifted in either category. I doubt those tusks are enough to level the playing field.

I use to think a wolf could take on a hyena 1 on 1, but it looks like hyenas are a very resilient and tough creatures, almost a sort of honey badger of their own. My respect for them have tremendously increased.

That hyena was a female I believe. To be honest I have a feeling she was waiting in the cuts for the lioness to do all the work. At this time its a fight for the best cuts (lol). not for fighting for dear life, it's better to tolerate each other than to have the whole crew show up and get scraps as you can see the hyena got a chunk of flesh and was content.

The hyena has really very big balls to compete against the food against a lion that is at least twice as big and much stronger. Guess a lone wolf wouldn't have do that against a lion to be honest.

Definitely not. Lion prides rule all but the same number hyena clan would destroy the same number of a pack of wolves. Hyenas are used to going to war with lions and leopards and other African beasts and are super durable as shown in this video. Wolves are awesome but wouldn’t be able to take the same bites and swipes this lioness gave to this hyena.
