* by adding a cable between the MTH TIU and the Lionel Base, you Can run Lionel engines and access most features with the MTH remote hand held. However, it is a little simpler and quicker to run Lionel engines from the Lionel Cab 1 controller.
** The Lionel cab one will not run MTH engines remotely, it does however run them in conventional mode ( it puts the transformer in your hand ) and will activate horn, bell, and fire the couplers remotely !

Thanks for the nice comment. When I built this, lionel "Geeps" was about the best I had. Never thought I would have large die cast engines. So far I have not had a problem, but if I do it again I would definitely make it stronger and have some support under the track.

That is pretty wild. I went with Atlas and 1/4" plywood, because I wanted to see the lower level as much as possible. I don't think Atlas would support as well as the Gargraves does.
