Excellent review, and thank you for uploading this video! It is GREAT to finally see one of these engines in action - I have had this exact model on preorder since June 2019. I saw you were running this from the Universal Remote (which is how I plan to operate it when the locomotive arrives). Did the whistle quill depending on how long you held down the whistle button on the remote? Also, how is the back-up light on the tender? It's good to see they added some pick-up rollers on the tender as well. Thank you again for sharing, and glad to hear that you are enjoying the locomotive. And... congrats in advance that you will get to drive the real NKP 765 next month! Good for you! :)

Well unfortunately there is no back-up light on the tender.. For the qulliable whistle I have no control over that. It seems to be random. I'll do some more experimenting when I can. And thank you!

Wait so the Lionel lionchief 2.0 Berkshires are gonna be released this fall???? Yes!!! I wanted to get a 1225 model for Christmas last year but didn't and got a pacific instead which I was ok with since my favorite steam locomotive is a pacific. I hope I can possibly get one this year despite my only complaint about the Berkshires is I heard they have trouble on curves. But it seems like this model didn't have trouble so I hope to get a 1225 model for christmas this year. But for now I'm gonna wait til I see a video on someone reviewing it since I want to see if the whistle and crew talk is different from 765 and the other locomotives.

I'll keep an eye out and hope that this christmas I'll get a lionel lionchief 2.0 1225 Berkshire. For now I'll stick with my PRR 0-8-0, Santa Fe 4-6-2 pacific this is what is looks like kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2jakKR7mNhjftU and my thomas model and other train cars and coaches. Even 2 mth ones too.

How are you able to make the whistle sound low to high on the LionChief remote?

It's actually at random. It's just part of the coding I would assume in the command functions. I haven't been able to detect a pattern or create a way for the whistle to be quillling. It's just sort of there... If I had the Legacy or TMCC remote it would probably be a little more controllable.

4 ft by 8 ft. Barely enough for two independent loops of track with switches to switch trains onto each loop. The other layout that has the bridge crossing the aisle is my local club layout.

Unfortunately, I don't know. It was able to pull about 15 standard scale cars without issue however, so I'd say it's up there.

Left if you see the Lionel logo, right if you see the features list on the back. if you're that concerned over a label on a box, I think you have some problems. If you want the model to be the 765, just order it through Lionel. Problem solved.

Because this locomotive is a 2.0. The previous generation Berkshires were not. The 767 model that I had(I have since sold it) was the previous gen with the single puff. It only had an operating fan for idle.
