ok he was not playing badly and that was not the reason for his temporary retirement. The players around him, the manager, everything was poor to mediocre at best and they routinely underperformed, Messi actually carried them to 3 major finals in a row, but players like Higuain kept missing chances while others like Aguero and Di Maria were never fit. If you see some of the matches it was him against 5 opponents with no support from his teammates in the form of off the ball runs or creating passing lanes for him or playing 1-2s. Gradually the pain of losing the World Cup Final and then the two Copa Americas proved to be too much. Add to that, the AFA (Argentinian Footballing Association) is corrupt and inefficient and Messi had to be pay some of the support staffs from his own pocket as they were not being paid. Also Argentinians as a nation put too much burden on him and always criticized him because they are entitled, let's be honest, and constant pressure and negativity from the media and some part of the fans were too much to take for any sane person. But he was back from his retirement without missing any game to the national team. He is the one who has the most goals for Argentina. I hope you two gorgeous ladies keep up the good work!
