Without context, this goal seemed just like any other goal. In fact, Suarez's goal with a nutmeg of David Luiz against PSG is similar in fashion and may even be just as good but if people know the weight of what this goal by Messi carried, it simply is the best, no contest. The fact that he IS Messi, up against his old boss, putting the world cup failure behind him, up against Manuel Neur who's literally the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment, playing against world champions as well as playing in the Semi Finals of the Champions League all adds up to the tremendous importance of the goal. With this goal, he didn't just scored against a great team, he simply decided to say 'enough is enough' and went for the jugular, humiliating a world class defender in Boateng and chipping over the world's best goalkeeper as if saying all that height advantage will prove of no use if he decides to put it into the net. That's how great this goal is.

What makes this goal even more special is how good a team this Guardiola-coached Bayern team was. To throw in some perspective, they beat a full strength Barcelona with Messi-Neymar-Suarez in the second leg WITHOUT both Robben and Ribery.
