In this video we will repair a malfunctioning e-unit, work on a smoker that doesn't smoke and replace a power slide shoe contractor on a motor with no shell.... Also we'll explore other motors that have no shell with hopes to match them with a shell after repair or maintenance.

I have a question. I have a Lionel 1060 Engine, with a 2-4-2 wheel configuration. The engine does not have Mag-n-Traction, and was only made as Forward directional. And I have been checking on eBay to identify and find the proper motor brushes and springs as future replacement parts. Can you tell me the correct part numbers for the springs and brushes? I checked online and found items: 1001-46 motor brushes and 1001-47 motor springs. And 246-211 brushes and 246-211 motor springs. Thank you.

Sorry for late response but the parts for your 1060 would be the 246-11 and 12

Thanks for watching and yes these are available, but I know a friend of mine recently bought one online but it was a little different than mine. Just search for "e-unit repair tool' and see what comes up. Let me know if you can't find one.....Mark T

Just found and subscribed to your channel. Nice tutorial video 👍 I plan on looking for the e-unit tool you have. Would make my life easier. 😃 Something I found with the pellet version smoke unit; if to much pellet material melts it can clog the air hole. I've cleaned a couple up that the hole was plugged, it had melted through to the space between the bracket and the smoke unit. Your motor in this video looks like it belongs to an early 2026.
