As you can see pastels ruled during the 80's, which in one of the reasons I will always I remember the 80's as a bright colorful decade. Wish life had a reset button.

Oh my word! That was cool in '83, I promise you! I was turning 30, now I'm turning 70 and I can't believe it. Yes, Lionel was everywhere in the 80's, he had already tasted huge success with The Commodores, but this album in particular took him up to a different level. Such a great song, no matter your musical persuasion. Thanks guys xx

I was a child of the 80s and Lionel Richie was my first concert when I was very young. My parents loved Motown, so that’s what I grew up listening to! Great song! Love you guys!

HUGE hit back then. And I must admit, I enjoy it when it comes on the radio today. I guess that makes it timeless.

I had the opportunity to interview Lionel about 20 years ago and, like you mentioned, he was such a warm, down to Earth, authentic guy. Like Phil Collins, there was a window of time where everything Lionel touched turned to gold and he was everywhere. Thanks for the reaction!

He performed this song during the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics in LA. It was so great watching the athletes from all over the world join into a massive party.

Just a real feel good fun song, instant smile! Another great song with a similar vibe is this one hit wonder from King Harvest released in 1972, "Dancing in the Moonlight”, take a listen if you haven’t heard that one yet, you will be glad you did! Back story of this tune is just remarkable, Sherman Kelly stated at the time, "On a trip to St. Croix in 1969, I was the first victim of a vicious St. Croix gang who eventually murdered 8 American tourists. At that time, I suffered multiple facial fractures and wounds and was left for dead. While I was recovering, I wrote “Dancin' in the Moonlight" in which I envisioned an alternate reality, the dream of a peaceful and joyful celebration of life."

Hi guys, I still have this video on a vhs tape. Not watched in ages. Boy where do the years go ? I was in my 20's. I really enjoyed this. Lionel has done quite a few music videos. His most famous is from the song "Hello" Where he sees a blind girl in his acting class, and he is the teacher. Later she is in another class making a sculpture. In the 80's lots of music videos became mini stories....The group Ultravox were really good at doing them. They must have cost a fortune to make ... then along came Michael Jacksons epic Thriller video. Owww !!! Great reaction to this video thankyou, and a bit of nostalgia for me. Byeee Jim X

Such a feel good song. Year wife and I married. Her parents actually got in an elevator once with Lionel Ritchie in Vegas or somewhere like that.

Ok, so, now that you've seen this, you HAVE to review Jacob Collier's version of this song.
