I do love Lionel! I have watched him for 50 plus years and he was wonderful in what I know had to be one of the most stressful performances of his life. Singing along side Pavarotti he held his own and I saw his shy side come out, but Lionel you were awesome and adorable. I saw your tender humbleness and heard your beautiful voice and song. You were both so beautiful in this song. Two very different voices and both of you touched me in this performance. Absolutely a unforgettable song and each of you were magnificent. We can appreciate each voice, each talent and the blend of you two together was excellent!

What i love most about Pavarotti's, besides his unmatched voice singing puccini which simple cant fail to raise goose bumps; is his true, genuine, and embracing LOVE of music. He didnt have a drop if elitism in him. Whatever type if music you sang- if you did it well- he reveled in it!!

he was so gracious and generous to these thready little puny voices, in comparison to his. schooled and far above quality voice, this was all in aid of charity, he knew pop voices would bring more and different audiences, instead of being bashed for doing this, he should be touted for his generosity. he gave millions, more than any other performer to this day. he started young singers on their way, many of whom are singing today with his yearly voice competitions, he had a yearly horse show to give opportunity to these also. he stayed after each performance unless he had to catch a flight till all people were spoken to, give a word an autograph a picture, sometimes till 3 in the morning. and hundreds of singular acts of kindness and benevolence. a giant among men, bravo maestro.
