LIONHEART - Hot tonight [Live 1985]

La banda británica LIONHEART presentando el tema que da nombre a su único album oficial de 1984, "Hot tonight" en el programa televisivo ETC TV's, en 1985; demostrando calidad musical al tocar completamente en vivo, sin playbacks...
LIONHEART fué una banda de Hard Rock formada en 1980, nacida con el montón de bandas del fuerte impulso que trajo la NWOBHM a finales de los 70's y principios de los 80's, y no era para menos; sus integrantes originales fueron el vocalista Jess Cox (ex TYGERS OF PAN TANG), el guitarrista Dennis Stratton (ex IRON MAIDEN), el segundo guitarrista Steve Man (ex LIAR), el bajista Rocky Newton (THE NEXT BAND) y el baterista Frank Noon (primer baterista de DEF LEPPARD); más tarde Cox fué reemplazado por Reuben Archer, vocalista de LAUTREC, y cuando Fran Noon se unió a WILD HORSES, el baterista de la banda fué Les Binks de JUDAS PRIEST...
Así comienzan su carrera influenciados por el sonido NWOBHM ya que obviamente sus integrantes provenían de otras bandas que comenzaron ese movimiento musical; así graban el sencillo "Lionheart" en 1982 apareciendo en el compilado "British Heavy Metal Heroes" de Heavy Metal Records. Sin embargo, al escuchar la canción terminada los integrantes de la banda se dieron cuenta que no era lo que musicalemente querían lograr, comenzando a cambiar significativamente de estilo, orientandose a un Hard Rock mucho más melódico para mas tarde incursionar en el A.O.R. más puro que abundaba sobre todo en la escena Norteamericana; usando como influencias principalmente el sonido de FOREIGNER, algo de RAINBOW en esos mismos años AOR, algo de JOURNEY, entre otras bandas. Así en 1984 graban el album "Hot tonight", producido por Kevin Beamish (R.E.O. SPEEDWAGON) en los Angeles...
En 1985 se unen a la banda el baterista de GRAND PRIX, Andy Bierne; el tecladista Phil Lanzon (que mas tarde integró THE SWEET y URIAH HEEP) y el vocalista Keith Murrell (ex AIRRACE)... Pero al ver que el disco no logró obtener el éxito que se esperaban y el reconocimiento que se merecían (a pesar del trabajo que les ha costado y de la calidad musical que está incluso muy por encima de algunas grandes y legendarias bandas de AOR) , la banda se separa en 1986 y cada uno de sus miembros toman rumbos musicales diferentes...

This band ended way too fast. Why didn't Chad have another band after Lionheart? I think he got a raw deal I think the whole band did. They got back together with Lee Small. I came here, though, because someone who isn't at all involved with music looks so much like the Chad we see here that it's scary! He's in a totally different field, but has the same hair and very strong facial resemblance. He also is just as wild!
