I had a anti gunner try to tell me why would anyone need a gun , I said that I respect them and their opinion and then I said why don’t you walk the walk and talk the talk by putting a gun free zone sign on their front door. They thought about that for a minute and said they didn’t think that was a good idea, I wonder why!

I think we should be careful taking actions, making laws, restricting and penalizing law abiding citizens because of acts that criminals commit. I've lived or been to places all over the US. Traveling in big cities - especially the inner cities - if you aren't paranoid and fearful walking the streets, you're probably insane. I lived in Missouri and there were so many meth heads out and about I wondered if the Zombie Apocalypse was already happening. Now I live in a liberal town that seems idyllic and paradisiacal. But the truth is crime exists here too. We have home invasions and violent predators. There are fewer of them but they're here. Sadly, the locals are shocked for a week or two after a violent crime but then go back to thinking it'll never happen again. My brother in law was a deputy sheriff in the desert. When he pulled cars over and drivers confessed to having a gun, my brother inevitably responded, "Good. 'Cause you're in the middle of nowhere." He knew his response time wasn't in minutes but hours even at 100mph with almost zero traffic. It's not being paranoid, it's being ready. Now if you really want to see paranoia and fear, ask a leftist what he thinks will happen if Donald Trump is elected. A man, who's basically a 1980s Democrat (WAS a Democrat) is more liberal than JFK was. (JFK, a Catholic who'd never approve of abortion, let alone gay marriage while Trump said it was OK even before Obama). According to them Trump will turn America into 1940s Germany and ship all the Democrats off to camps. Trump was president for 4 years and he didn't even put Hillary in jail.

Then I got tired and quit. You have to be in Jeff Cooper’s orange color mental code almost all the time to safely carry a firearm in a relatively dangerous environment. Today I’d carry a firearm on special occasions only. But I defend the legal right to carry a firearm for every law abiding citizen. God bless. Happy Trails.

The sad truth is that we are living in a dangerous time, especially when it comes to living in or around big cities, but realistically, crime can happen anywhere. I'm not sure what is happing with society, but the disregard for human life is rampant. As a relatively recently retired police officer, I can tell you that you need to take it upon yourself to provide your own protection because the police cannot always be there to protect you. Hi Greg, you are not paranoid (and I am not paranoid), but if you look at other gun channels, some give the impression that they are paranoid indeed. When they say you need to have a full size gun, with a round in the chamber a 15 rounds mag and two spares and a backup gun, all with a red dot etc. I think the difference is that we know how to relate to people and understand them in the first place, we keep in shape, we practice sports, we're self confident so we (at least it is so for me) very rarely perceive others as a threat and they rarely are. I feel some gun KZbinrs come from a lifestyle in which others were a threat indeed (like war zone), don't do other activities other than combat training and have a biased perspective.

The tactical stuff has its place and it is fun and challenging to train like that, but it is not ordinary living and even has limited use in a military or police connotation. My belief is that many of these people are fear mongering to sell a product or service. Or maybe there are a few who are paranoid.

Living in fear? Paranoid? Not that I am aware of. I've been carrying so long I forget it's on me until something seems sketchy. Like most dedicated concealed carrying citizens it is part of my EDC. No different than my pocket knife, flashlight, etc... I will admit to being a little OCD, but not paranoid.

One thing that gets me is that anti-2A folks wants everyone else to live like them. If they don’t feel the need to carry or own a gun then so be it. No one is forcing upon them, after all the 2A is a rights just like the 1st amendment. Some folks don’t feel the need to speak and express their thoughts and prefer to keep to themselves that’s fine too.

The only thing I think about anymore when carrying is, If some day I need it to protect a family member and I don't have it, and the absolute worst happens. I couldn't live with myself. I always have it near by when in the house, and even have it on me when in the yard playing with my dog. So I guess that makes me paranoid. Only not the way the leftists think.

I am from the Philippines and I love guns esp the classics like the 1911 and M9. About the topic, there are people that loves guns that doesn't really look "paranoid" here in YT like paul harrell, hrfunk, you. However, there are also some tacticool commandos here that thinks apocalypse is coming (those who look like they are in fallujah with their PMC attire) which I think makes more of a negative impression. As an outsider (doesn't really care or well informed of the US political system), those tacticool commandos seems paranoid for me.

This question is a trap posed every day to gun owners by those who want guns outlawed. You are spot on Greg. Preparedness should be something everyone wants. Really, there are doers, and non-doers in the world. The doers do kit out the vehicle with gear for emergencies. Doers will help others. Doers will defend themselves. I look at martial skills the same way I view tools. They are there to be used when called upon. Paranoid behavior is a medical condition. Preparedness should reduce fear. Fear cannot be at zero either. It is healthy to manage fear, but as humans, it is never 100% gone. Life is risky. As teens we begin learning mitigation of risk. In adulthood, we improve on mitigation. When these weak people eaten up with fear, try to lay a verbal trap, try to ignore them. If you cannot, minimize the contact. If they persist, try this. A Gunny I knew once used this line. He asked, do you know why I am crazy? Because it keeps me from going insane. There is a bit of truth in that. No, Greg you are right. Your firearm is a tool in the toolbox of things you might need. These lefties, anti-gun people are weak. They don't have a toolbox full of skills, tools, and the attitude to be a doer.

If being prepared is being fearful, I guess I am. I carry a gun legally and a pocket knife. I also have extensive first aide products in different carry bags in my home and autos. Is that scared? I don't think so. It is just being ready too help someone in an emergency and too protect my family and myself if necessary. If I dont propare than why leave the house.

The crazy anti gun people believe the police carry a firearm to save them but we know that they carry to protect themselves. If you ever need to call 911 when your life is in danger you should have called 15 minutes ahead of time. It’s kind of like not having a fire extinguisher because you believe the fire department will but it out in time. Bottom line is that my safety is my responsibility. I’ll do whatever it takes to stay safe.

Paranoid and fearful? no. I've had to "display" three times in my life. Thankfully never had to aim or pull the trigger. In one case 2 clowns were checking out my SUV. I got their attention by hitting the panic button on my key fob. when they turned to face me I had the leash of my 95 pound bull terrier in one hand and my 38 J-frame in the other hand. They didn't know which I was going to use first, but they didn't stick around to find out. In another case I guy approached me with a knife, all I had to do was lift my shirt to show him what I was bringing to the party. Welcome to big blue city life.

(even the pocket knife, unless you can prove it is for your work.) Im not sure, but i think, that even practising with my water pistol in my bathtub ( even though liscenced) may soon be illegal... there is rumours that the water specifications are to be reviewed... apparently a high HP is more lethal and looks like new laws restricting high PH water are going to be intriduced 😢. Good video sir. I carry a knife and firearm where it is legal to do so. I also train in martial arts almost every day and having been doing so since the 1980's. I don't discuss politics, religion, or self-defense with most people. I enjoy going to church. When I'm out and about I mind my own business, don't text or call while I'm driving. I'm do my best to dress to where it's hard for most people to notice I'm carrying concealed weapons. Do I consider myself paranoid? No sir. I try to be prepared to protect myself and my family. I also train in martial arts because it helps keep my 66 year old body in shape. J-frames are good concealed handguns. I've had my S&W 638 for many years. Lately I prefer to conceal carry a Sig Sauer P365XL with nitesites and a lever safety. Keep up the great work. A fellow "lefty" - Frank in Texas...:)

Paranoia by definition refers to a state of unreasonableness and obsessiveness with regard to mistrust or fear. Therefore insinuating that someone is paranoid for being prepared to defend themself in this increasingly dangerous world is illogical. Typical psychological projection on the part of the accuser.
