Lions clinch first division title in 30 years

The Lions beat the Vikings 30-24 Sunday to clinch the NFC North, their first division title since the 1993 season.

What a huge accomplishment for this team, this is well deserved and overdue for them. To put this into perspective with their whole history, they’ve had 39 winning seasons but have made the playoffs 19 times out of their entire 93 year existence. Only 5 division titles, 11 seasons of at least 10 wins, and of course one playoff win since their last championship in 1957. Their best record was in 1991, at 12-4 which was the last time they won a playoff game so there is a good chance they could at least tie the record, maybe break it with 13 wins if they win out. They’re only one of 4 teams to never reach a Super Bowl so one could be in their near future.
