I love this watch - primarily because of the lip history. The unique combination of nautical combined with skiing pretty individual. Think a read into it may re-energise your interest in lip

Miota movements are very serviceable, I’ve serviced couple myself and parts are readily available, they’re not the best but they’re far from the worst

Good to know, thanks for the comment. I've read different things, but I guess some of it could be explained by snobbery.

Thanks for your review of the interesting watch. May I ask if the dial color is blue or black, and the lug-to-lug distance?
@TimeandTalk2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure of the lug to lug, but perhaps I mention at some point during one of the videos I have made on the watch. The dial is blue though. If you like the video, consider subbing the channel 😀

The minute hand is more useful than the hour hand when diving. Just before diving, you turn the inner bezel center register until it is lined up with the minute hand. Then you can easily determine how many minutes you've dived.

I think the LIP history and "french-ness" of the watch is the main selling point here. The domed sapphire is nice, but to me objectively it's maybe slightly overpriced, especially when compared to what Berny offers in terms of a compressor-style diver. If the cool-factor of the brand is enough to overcome the shortcomings, is up to the owner.

It is for me, as I am a huge fan of French culture. Thanks for watching, and consider subbing if you like the vid.

In this review of the original, it is also described at 15mm which must have seemed even taller with a 36mm case: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIrVqoikbtSpeJo

Am I right if one crown is smaller and lower positioned than the other?
@TimeandTalk3 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s right. From what I have read it is a deliberate thing, but it does look a little haphazard.
@TimeandTalk3 жыл бұрын
They look the same size though.

Yes, and in the review of the 1968 version, it appears one is positioned slight higher than the other.
