To answer your question on how to mute sounds in Flash, turn the 'eye' icon off on the sound layer - like you're making that layer invisible. That will mute the sound on that layer. You've probably figured this out by now anyway, but if case you haven't - there you go :) Love you're vids by the way.

Amazing! I there any way to switch "happy " to "sad" mouth in the same map? Or Should I have two different layers ?

Great tutorial! One question tho, how did you make the mouth and the jaw share the same drawing substitution? I can't make two separate drawings link each other like that, when I lip-synch I'll have to later adjust the jaw along with the mouth shapes.

If you copy-paste a drawing, it is a clone of that drawing and any changes to one will happen to the other. Then you can use layer selectors to isolate the drawing layers. You can also sync drawings if you need more than the 4 drawing layers. docs.toonboom.com/help/harmony-14/premium/timing/sync-two-layers.html

Use reference. Lots of pros will record themselves saying the dialogue so they can see the subtle changes in expression.

Great Vid, thanks for sharing! How do you "pull this back one frame"? in Flash it's Shift F5, are there similar controls in Harmony? Still trying to figure out messing around with keyframes. Also in flash, to deactivate sound go to properties, to the 'Sync' pull down menu while sound layer is selected: stop will remove it, Start will leave it but you won't hear it while scrubbing, Stream will allow to scrub.

+ and - will adjust your exposure length. There are also a bunch of useful things like "clear exposure and pull" that I use often that don't have a shortcut. If you go to edit >preferences it has the list of shortcuts, you can edit there, or search for specific ones.

Does it matter on what equipment you use for recording voice overs? Will this be a problem for auto lip sync?

Clearer audio will be less terrible, but in general it's all pretty terrible.

@@StylusRumble After playing with every auto setting for almost a year now I have to say that I whole-heartedly agree with this. I generally start with auto now and go back and re-do about 90% of whatever the computer "thought worked".
