If you are interested what’s inside lithium-ion polymer battery I show you that in this video. This is another battery teardown and this time I focus on a lithium-ion polymer battery which left after replacing battery in a Lenovo tablet. I show you how I managed to discharge the battery and then how I got into it. The battery smells very ugly so pay attention to it because you don’t want to breath that smell all day.

I have damaged the outer aluminium layer of a lipo battery when i've removed it from the phone. It was glued strong. It smells a bit sweet. That's electrolit? I have used some tape to cover the missing aluminium layer. Still smells sweet and some white spots appeared on the tape (Probably electrolit dissolving tape's sticky glue. You think this battery is gone ? I haven't install it in the phone. I'm thinking to replace it.

Hi, for you safety I would get rid of it and buy a new one. This is something you don't really want to smell.

First of all, thanks for the video. The batteries of some brands/models of phones are not easy to find. Will it work if we buy a battery of another brand phone with compatible current values and remove the flex cable of the dead battery and attach it to the battery we just bought ? Will it cause a problem ? Example: We have a dead battery Umidigi F2 brand phone battery with battery and we cannot find this battery. If we buy a battery of a different brand (For example / buy a Xiaomi phone battery) with the same current values instead of this battery and remove the battery data cable on the dead battery of the Umidigi F2 phone and mount it on the battery (To the battery of the Xiaomi phone we bought )we just bought does the phone work ?

You should probably be using a fume hood or some sort of drafting set up to pull the fumes, based on what little I know of organic chemistry they're very bad for you.

Enough for battery, I think it doesn't have the same capacity anymore and it's risk to use it. Don't risk, replace it!

Interesting... You won't get shocked with your discharge method... But they say a dead lithium battery is more prone to explosion due to reverse polarity conditions than being fully charged..
