Liqui Moly 20004 Hydraulic Lifter Additive on 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Did it stop the Ticking?

I have a 2015 dodge charger, I had the same problem at about 119,000 miles and 2 shops and the dealership said it was my lifters and would need to have an expensive repair or replaced engine…. I came across this video after researching anything that can be done before I went down that road. So I bought a bottle and ran it for about 800 miles over 2 weeks. It sounded like it was getting worse the first week but still kept driving more to see if it needed more time. The next week later the tick got more quiet by the days and now it’s completely gone! I rarely believe people in these type videos but now I’m so relieved! The tick was so embarrassing bc my charger is really nice and didn’t wanna have to get rid of it. Thank you for sharing

I have a Mercedes C250 with a 1 second cold start rattle, I just ordered this and read your review. Hoping this works, luckily my car isn’t ticking, just hope it helps with the cold start 🙏🏻

@@AhmadZarzora yes it is still quiet! The noise is very faint, I think bc I’m always listening for it I can tell the faint noise but no one else would ever notice. It was definitely worth it

I have replaced several sets of lifters and rocker arms. By the time you hear the ticking noise the rocker bearings are going and if you don't replace the rockers and lifters very soon you will need a camshaft and timing set as well...

my engine has a capacity of 6.5 liters of oil and it shows that it is at maximum. Do I have to have 6.2 liters of oil in the engine to use this additive

I used it on a Ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi and it completely went away after I drove it a couple of days❤

Good night! I have the same problem in my 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee 5.7 HEMI, I put the additive two days ago and the sound improved by 60%, but it has not yet completely gone, according to your experience do you think it will result in eliminating ticking 100% in a few months of use?

Yeah, it took a few weeks but the ticking is still completely gone! And make sure you don't put heavy oil. Use the recommended oil weight....

It might help by solidifying the oil to the point where the rocker, lifter, cam, etc doesn't have enough force to break through the oil to make that pronounced metal to metal sound, but its still there and you can't fix it unless you change out the bad parts. But i am very happy you acknowledged that fact in your own words and didn't say this was a real fix because its not. Maybe if your Jeep was a 2 door it wouldn't have to lug around all that extra useless weight and it wouldn't have started ticking in the first place, yes i'm just kidding. 😜

Its a good product. It needs time to clean the bores in the lifters. But if the lifters are too worn, it wont be able to fix it.

So your issue was exactly with the lifter and cam or something else.I am now having the same issue with my charger scatpack 6.4L. Don't know what to do 😔

That’s just the Pentastar tick. They are known for the failure of rocker arms.

Check an oil analysis and see how much metal is in the oil

I think there is a change it sound quiter 🤔 but then Jeep engine are always a bit noisy .

The needle bearings on that rocker arm are about to completely fall out and ride in the cam and then kiss the cam good bye 500 + dollar cam fix it the right way or it will end up costing you a lot more than just a rocker arm/lifter replacement

Once it ticks that means a couple needle bearings have left the chat.. it’s all down hill from there it’s going to get worse I can assure you that 100%

Is not lifter sound. You have the rocker arm failure. Change all rocker arm

How can you tell its a rocket arm and not the lifter? I have the exact same sound in my 2014 Gmc sierra 5.3 with active fuel management

You START a vehicle, it doesnt have a switch to TURN IT ON...doesnt surprise me you say this when you have a soccer mom 4 door wrangler. Get a real jeep, TJ or older
