I have a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan with the Pentastar 3.6L engine. At about 200,000 miles it was starting to tic. I put 1 can of Liqui Moly MOs2 in the oil change I did at that time. Within a few minutes, the tic was gone and now at 245,000 miles, with regular oil changes, but no more MOs2 added during any of those 5,000 mile oil changes, the tic remains gone. I swear by this additive. The oil I use is full synthetic NAPA (Valvoline) 5w30 and that's what I have used since 2012 when I bought the van new off the lot.

@@repairvehicle I managed an import auto repair and we used BG Automotive products. They’re excellent products. However, the owner purchased various type of Liqui Moly (before they were sold at retail auto parts stores) The sales representative claimed they were Made in Germany, so the owner wanted us to use them to see their efficacy. The engine oil flush worked well, we didn’t take too much notice of the others, like the Ceramic based additive. I don’t have any conclusive data to say Ceratec works, but I don’t have any proof it doesn’t. Most people I knew were sold on some of their products because the Made in Germany and the banners on the backdrops at the garages…🤷🏻♂️

Unfortunately Germany has very strange rules when it comes to labeling their products where it’s made. Their products can be made outside of Germany and still have labels made in Germany. Many years ago I spoke with sales representative who sold caliper grease to German companies that were made here in us but labeled made in Germany under different name.

Metals could have come straight from the product not necessarily from excessive wear. Some off the shelve oils have traces of metal in them. The bad thing about them is they change viscosity and don’t mix well with oil. There are some that do a lot better job actually mixing with the oil. But I still wouldn’t run any oil additive in any car. Modern oils do an excellent job in lubricating and don’t need some additive. Probably cause more harm then good changing the viscosity like that
@vancheeliu67945 ай бұрын
MoS2 increased the viscosity of 0W20 for too much so that the engine's oil pump is not maintaining a good enough flow rate. So nano-particle MoS2 may be good for 5W30 or 5W40, may be bad for 0W20. Most current branded engine oil do already has some form of Mo additive in the form of MoDTP liquid or oil soluble trinuclear molybdenum compound or others.
