I have been subscribed to him for a little over a year now The way he talked down to the camera man really got under my skin. I have since unsubscribed and I don't really care what else he has to say. I understand that he is smart, but being so condescending rather than informative like I've always seen him to be turns me off. I know he'll continue to make videos, but I will not be contributing to his watch time algorithm until I see some sort of acknowledgement and apology for the way he acted in this video.

Constricting the neck until you get that "pop" means you're getting supersonic flow, which means the throat is choked, which means the pressure in the reaction vessel is increasing and boosting your reaction rate. The calculations for it aren't too hard if you want to control the reaction.

@@CharliePhillips4 Reactions accelerate with pressure. The orifice boosts pressure slightly which increases reaction rate which increases pressure etc. Until you get choked flow. Only takes like 50psi to do it and these reactions run away fast.

Would be really cool to have SmarterEveryDay or the Slow Mo Guys join you in the lab, do some proper high speed filming of some fun reactions. Cause (no offence) there are a lot of things that can be tweaked, like framerate, exposure, etc. that could make for really cool footage.
