Tutorial for Scrappy Quilt Pattern using Pioneer Woman Fabric

What do the Pioneer Woman and the Fat Quarter Shop have in common? They are two of my favorites. I lucked into finding the Pioneer Woman fabric at Walmart and then saw this free quilt pattern for fat eights in an email from the Fat Quarter Shop. This combination goes together perfectly. A cute quilt pattern and a lovely fabric to make it. The block is called the Flapjack block (try saying that fast 5 times) and it is the one block that makes up the pattern along with some borders. April, I just came upon your channel. At 63 I’ve decided to learn to Quilt. Your videos crack me up! You remind me of myself at times. I really enjoy watching you and I’m going to watch everyone until I am confident enough to put fabric to the machine! Help! I did go to Walmart and get this fabric before I even watched. Thank you for sharing your find. It took visiting 3 Walmarts to find the fabric. They didn’t have it priced or easy to find. I found it closer to the party supplies than fabric. I snapped up two 3 yard cuts for backing. The fat quarter bundles are priced higher than usual but well below other stores. I’m keeping a lookout in case there are other varieties. There are also kitchen towels and oven mitts to match.

Thank you for you demo on log cabin quilt. I have not been brave enough to start on one. Did not know Pioneer woman had put out some fabric. I am glad to hear good ole Walmart is carrying more fabric. Small towns need access to fabric in some way and Walmart has helped out. I was part of a campaign of letter writers to keep fabric in smaller Walmarts.
