LIRR: Post-Blizzard Railfanning at New Hyde Park

Saw the first restored service trains on the Main Line after Winter Storm Jonas which i saw half of the morning rush, midday rush, and half of evening rush. Some of the westbound trains stopped at this station because of the storm and most trains were late. Also saw an 8 car eastbound equipment move to Penn Station and all of the MP15AC's I saw are CE moves which 2 of the moves were towing M7's. 2 MOW TC work trains also came. Was with Railfanning Meteorologist & Marc Purcell.

This crossing no longer exists having been eliminated as part of the third track expansion project in 2020 along with all the other crossings west of Hicksville. The road now passes under the tracks. The station has been completely rebuilt as well. Traffic in the area no longer backs up during rush hours when trains run very frequently often without stopping at this local station. However level crossings still exist on the Hempstead Branch at Stewart Manor a short distance south on New Hyde Park Road.
