Just finished her book. It was excellent, I felt that little girl's pain and I was amazed of her continual love for both of her parents, her continual hope things would improve. Many in her situation turn bitter, take drugs to deal with the pain but she became stronger. This is to be admired.

This is the dark side of Steve Jobs. How could he deny his child. She clearly has a lot of resemblance with him. If I were in her shoes, I don't think I would be as gracious as she is
@NKWTI

At the beginning he did because her birth was inconvenient for what he was trying to do at a critical moment of his career. He was definitely eccentric, but you can tell in some way he was proud of her by immediately naming a new computer model after her. As far as having a relationship with her, Steve always comes around to doing what he knows he needs to do...but stubbornly.

I have been listening to Lisa’s book on audible. It is riveting! Lisa is an outstanding writer for starters. I can think of a hundred adjectives and adverbs to describe the writing and retelling of her life and how her experiences shaped her. She doesn’t spare anyone, not even herself. Her family may be uncomfortable for things to be divulged, but Lisa is honest and fair. The light she sheds on her stepmother and aunt shows their care and generosity in how they treated her, especially as she was growing up. Sometimes things go awry. It’s clear she’s not trying to hurt anyone. They say they remember things differently. Of course they do. They are not her. They did not experience these things. Lisa did and she is telling her story as honestly as possible and has great insight in the telling. Bravo, Lisa!

It’s almost like Steve Jobs kept punishing his own daughter because he too grew up without his biological parents and he wanted her to suffer too. He couldn’t empathize and treat her as his daughter, he kept abandoning her and resurfacing, feeling and not feeling, just leaving her confused. I grew up without a father in a similar way, it makes you angry at times and even though you try to forgive, you don’t forget, the child part in you is incomplete, sad, always asks why.

Well I find it very intriguing what she describes about the healing aspect of writing the book. She says to go back there into those memories, being there with that child without interfering, just her being present in the past, in that car... That's how you do it my friend. You go back, not to process, not to interfere, just to be present. It rewrites your childhood, because now the wise adult is present in it, basically telling the child "look I'm here, we've made it, it'll all be okay". Hope this perspective helps. Anyway, take care.

Narcissist is a misused label. It's endemic to a degree in today's social media age but not at the end of the spectrum. It's true, though, that you'll never get a true narcissist to admit to abuse as it will destroy the perfect them that hides the severely damaged insecure them. In the end you move on, after a long inner battle, and they'll won't. When everyone has abandoned them due to the narcissistic traits they have the perfect martyr saviour complex to feed. It's not them, it's everyone else. A complex syndrome with which it's hard to not sympathise even though they seek to destroy everyone they associate with. They simply can't see the issues within themselves. And it's totally impossible to be rational with them.

Steve Job has always been my hero for what he has contributed to humanity. Take me as an example a born disorganized person. Ever since I have had my iPhone, my life has become very organized--I don't miss appointment or important data any more. Now, mobile phone has become such a common place, but when iPhone was just coming out it was groundbreaking. In the big picture, Steve's life should be celebrated and any of his less than perfect behaviors should be just the footnote of such a brilliant existence. I am lamenting Steve's life was cut short otherwise he would have contributed even more to our lives, and it deprived Steve of the chance to grow into a mellow person.

I Think he became a lot more geniourous and humble when he got sick. The biggist mistake in his life was dropping his first daughter for many years, his whole life until his deatbed, the daughter he refused to acknowledge.That's why it gives me a always a bitter taste to every thing this man ever said and done . And yes he was a genius, but I don't understand that a man with such great visions about life and the world could not connecte the biggest dot in his own life, his dauhgter. I think It's a real shame and lost for him as a human, that he did not connect the most important dot in his own life.

Lisa is such a talented writer with the greatest sense of smell and super smart, of course she is, it’s in her genes. Her mother is super intelligent and the most underrated author out there. Her book”A Bite in the Apple” is a masterpiece. ChrissAnn is a very deep thinker.

It is important to note that this is her version of the story. Many around her, her father, Apple, etc at the time saw it very differently. Interesting how contrasting the stories.

I saw the movie in the movie the way he denied his daughter was foul and the way that his daughter and her mom was on welfare while he was living big was foul. Yes he created APPLE but that doesn’t excuse someone abandoning their child and ignoring their child physically as affection and love and time. And mentally like abandonment and denial of someone so little and helpless like a child you would treat like that. Hopefully he apologized to her.

yk as a person who has abusive parents this memoir hits hard cuz it feels like Steve is like someone who is a combo of the worst parts of my parents in one person, and like thats why i hate him, so much, with a burning feeling of rage.

Seems Steve's widow is just as narcissistic as him. She has said he was hardly there for his children and his daughter Eve had to make appointments to see him. Steves widow is now living the highlife dating celebs. I believe Lisa's story!
