As a CEO, rather than a political leader, he had the freedom to practice what he preached. No matter where he went wrong in his life, he kept focusing on building great products. Politicians don't speak clearly because they're avoiding stating painful truths. The vast majority fail to tackle the fundamental issues. Very few have the courage to say "we're in a hole, and this is the way out". Versatile iIIusiox Look... I own a Mac and I love it, but that’s utter poppycock Have you looked up the cost of a Mac Pro VS an equivalent PC tower? It’s absolutely insane. And it used to be that Apple had all the creative industry - well, not anymore. I was a working editor and I’m sound engineer now btw. Sure there is a certain prestige to using Apple products but it’s not worth the premium anymore, and hadn’t been the case since Jobs left this world. Besides your understanding of programming is quite shallow. Web-progamming can be done on a Thinkpad from 2010, while AI/deep-learning development requires a multi-thousand dollars tower at the minimum, with likely more than one GPU. And it’s not gonna be a Mac Pro. Even in industries using Mac OS X, Hackingtosh computers have been in favor. Now that might change with Apple making their own chips in-house, but iOS been their primary focus and I can’t blame them. But walk into any VFX or gaming or software development company and you’ll HP Z’s towers and servers running on Linux Red hat or equivalent. OS X is a joke in reliability now and the user control is supidly broken, and anyone who’ve ever had to hack their own Mac’s kernel to fix something that should be basic can attest this. My MacBook Pro 2012 is one of the greatest laptop ever made for sure, and I can admit that, but you clearly don’t work in tech.

Something new I’m learning is that the greats that push the world forward don’t always do it because there’s a “problem”. Sometimes they just do it because seeing things improve is such a satisfying feeling. And it takes serious courage to do the things you know you need to do. I’m working on this. Massive respect to those that have driven the world in such an amazing direction when they could have just gone home for dinner and pretended everything was good enough as it was. Kudos to Einstein, Martin Luther King, Richard Feynman, Usain Bolt, Gwynne Shotwell, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Isaac Newton, Barack Obama, Marie Curie, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Hedi Lamar, JFK, Neil Armstrong, Celine Dion, Serena Williams, whoever came up with Star Trek, and on and on and on. Sometimes all you have to do is try. And I don’t mean to belittle it. Trying takes courage, but your odds of contributing your passion to the world go up immensely if you do. Don’t let life keep you down, friends. - Float.

I think this is one of the greatest commercials ever and there’s another version of that that Steve himself narrated and it’s great. He didn’t want it released so it wasn’t but I like his version better. I like listening to him speak because he is direct to the point, and anybody can understand what he’s talking about. He makes people believe that if you want something badly enough and you are willing to work hard, you can achieve it. Because he did. His commencement address at Stanford university in 2005 I think it was, was one of the most inspiring speeches I’ve ever heard. I go back and watch it once in a while just to refresh. It’s hard to believe that next year will be 10 years since he’s been gone and I still miss him. I used to love his presentations when he had a new product to introduce. Jobs is the perfect example that a man with a vision can indeed change the world. In 1985 he was forced out of Apple only to return in 1997 after his company NeXt was bought by Apple. And he became CEO of Apple because he proved how much value he can bring to the table. The man stuck to his vision and didn't let anyone tell him different. And boy did this man dare to dream. And he made everyone around him part of something big. If you want to be successful, be like him. I think that, maybe, Apple Company should watch this video again, because it really looks like what is happening right with the smartphone war against Samsung, in the last 1-2 years Apple concentrated her a lot more ads making see why iPhone is a better machine than Galaxy S, maybe they should get back and remember what this company really believes on.
@Lain.Iwakura9 жыл бұрын
Mario Rossi "the smartphone war against Samsung," What? lol You seem to be comparing apples to oranges. Samsung is an indefinitely more successful company because of the fact that they sell more than just consumer electronics.
@maxwell23789 жыл бұрын
FaLsEiNqUiSiTiOn It's obvious that they have a section that just concerns about smartphones and that will be canceled if in an imaginary future they would not do enough earnings, it is something that every company does, so your comment is useless.
@Lain.Iwakura9 жыл бұрын
What you said, besides the comment near the end detracting from the point, can be applied to Apple as well. I'm just saying, IF I wanted to, why can't I buy an Apple washing machine? (For example) Because they're a company with only one direction, and only known for consumer electronics. Samsung is literally a household name, it doesn't make sense to compare the two in a competitive landscape.
@maxwell23789 жыл бұрын
FaLsEiNqUiSiTiOn Forget it.

Mario Rossi WHAT!!?? They have made ZERo ads bashing on Samsung, but Samsung have made TTOONNSS of ads bashing on Apple, not in a way to not get them sued, but literally saying the name 'iPhone". Samsung is the one who releases a product once or twice every month and BARELY put ANY work on it, while Apple spends a year on each device. Have you seen the Samsung Tab A? It's their newest tablet. Look up Samsung Tab A vs iPad Air 2 (btw the iPadAir 2 is almost a year old now whereas the Tab A was released not long ago). You'll see the difference

There Steve said it ''Marketing is about values'' And people always say oh well ''Apple is a marketing company'' NO Apple is a company with values but whether you like their values or not thats isn't the point...the point is that they have values, they stand for something and they are consistent with their values! Thats why Apple has been hugely successful for the last two decades!

It is old but the coding is bad... This video, from OASIS, was from 1995 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXu5o6B_mc95bMk) and its clear AF. Coding ruined everything. Millenials critique the old due to poor encoding, go figure.

@@GmRb79 I'm majoring in computer science and finding out how coding is literally everywhere...within cars down to chips within our own remotes. Can you explain to me how coding is involved in the quality we see here? Thank you.
@ObnosisJones4 жыл бұрын
@@GmRb79 This is a transfer from a copy of a copy of a copy of a VHS slow (EP/SLP) speed tape. That's why the audio is so poor as well. It seems to have been reasonably well transferred to a digital file with little additional quality loss. The Oasis footage, shot about two years earlier, looks like it was shot using DV tape, which seamlessly transfers to a computer / internet file, looking superb (although still has a 1.33:1 aspect ratio). The loss of quality of the Steve Jobs footage was all in the analogue copying, not the digital coding.

That was an enjoyable day when we all got to see the vision we at NeXT were unveiling to our new fellow Apple employees. Insider note: he actually revealed Think Different after we had an internal slogan competition was revealed down in the Mac Cafe and yes Got Milk and Nike were paramount in their simplicity and Apple was doing the same. There was debate about the slogan grammatically not being Think Differently, but it was obvious after Got Milk and Just Do It that Think Different needed the same tense.

Interesting story! Neat to know things like this.. I’m a big fan of NeXT! I know to many it wasn’t exactly a financial success story.. but I think NeXT was needed to push the industry forward in the right direction and did great things! Many don’t even know it but there are still parts of NeXT around today :)
