This is my favourite video of this Lisa Hannigan song. Each member of the band plays such an integral part to the whole. Always love watching Ross Turner on drums and the supporting vocals of Heather Woods Broderick (herself, a striking artist) are a fantastic foil to Lisa's own. I think the sound and the drama even, of Lisa's harmonium playing is great. I have seen her live at the Barbican recently (the whole thing was brilliant) but really keen to see her playing with her band some time but she's in such demand everywhere. Purchased At Swim and would thoroughly recommend it!

Chris Peacock mine is the one with all the vinyls in the background, and it’s just her vocals and her guitar. Idk why but that version always makes me cry. This is really cool but it doesn’t move me like the other one.

So much to love here, what brilliant full blown performance! Mesmerizing amazing voice with that wide range ending in the most sensitive subtle fade out possible. The held back drums, wonderful. 819 like should be 800.000 likes.

don't get me wrong as I love Damian Rice an I'll be ever so gratefull for the music he an lisa produced together but in my opinion I honestly think it's the best thing lisa did was leave an start up on her own otherwise they'd be no masterpiece like this an so much more of her work is just amazing! love u lisa ✌💜

Lisa Hannigan and Damien Rice parted ways in March 2007. Lisa Hannigan had said they will not be getting back together. I respect that, and therefore it's not actually necessary to keep referring Lisa in the context of Damien Rice imo. Lisa has/had her own band, wrote and sang her own songs, offered her own unique interpretation of others songs, has collaborated with other singers sans Damien Rice, is an excellent performer on the guitar and pump organ, and has toured successfully as an independent artist. That's how I see Lisa Hannigan.

We, the drowned Hold our hollow hearted ground Til we swallow ourselves down Again We, the ashes, We spend our days like matches And burned ourselves as black as The end. We know not the fire in which we burn But we sing and we sing And the flames grow higher. We read not the pages which we turn But we sing, and we sing, and we sing, and we sing We, the wrong, We the sewn up and long gone, Were before and all along Like this We, the drowned The lost and found out, We are all finished again.
