Lisa Loeb is one of the pioneer "Indie Artists" who got very popular in the 90's and early 2000's without signing with a major recording label. She was popular here in the Philippines and her music is still being played in radios and covered by other music artists.

It’s funny she took the astigmatism issue and made it work for her. It’s actually funny how a few years back I found out I had the same problem. ( it was there the whole time I was told but my lenses in my eyes were flexible enough to compensate) when she first popped up there was no real medical treatment for it short of glasses. Now they have contacts or laser treatments ( no way am I letting someone burn up my eyeballs ) so I just live with the glasses thing. ( I will say it has eliminated a lot of headaches caused by astigmatism)
