Lisa Marie Presley’s Cause of Death Revealed

Lisa Marie Presley autopsy reveals she had a "small bowel obstruction" that developed "after a previous bariatric surgery years ago." Bariatric surgery includes gastric bypass and other weight-loss procedures. The 54-year old made her last public appearance at this year's Golden Globes, two days before she died. The morning she passed away, Presley was complaining of "severe abdominal pain." She was later found "unresponsive" by a housekeeper.

I think the addiction probs blown out of proportion by media tbh she lived just up the road from me here in the UK towards the end of her life, she was pretty fit and active tbh worked on a burger van did a marathon or two etc think she just enjoyed not being recognised and living a relatively normal life for a while which she got to do for 6 or 7 years before she went back to the US. She got divorced and sold her Sussex home around 2016 I don’t know what toll that is on her but she seemed on top of her demons for a long while. Really sad she was one of the few genuine good soul celebs.

Lisa Marie did inherit a lot of things from her father, true, but she was her own person. It's a tragedy that she died so young indeed. Fear is often what keeps people from seeking medical attention for a problem. They know they have a serious problem but they don’t want to hear it. When you combine that with extreme emotional pain from the loss of a close loved one….I just don’t think she wanted to go on much longer. The grieving process is more than some people can bear.

So when I try to get foods like a cheeseburger the food get stuck in my esophagus. So I can’t eat cheeseburger, hot dog. My godsister went through something similar. She was so bad that her feces was coming out of her mouth. It was very difficult for her to get help bcz she was in prison. So it went from the prison saying it was nothing wrong with her to her having emergency surgery. After a few months she was down to her regular size.

I’ve lost 80 pounds in the last two years and I’ve kept it off for the past year. Most people who lose weight don’t keep it off from what I’m told. I have tho. I did consider surgeries etc. But I figured it wouldn’t truly stay off unless I lost it all naturally. And I did. These weight loss procedures aren’t necessary for most people. I was nearly 240 pounds at my heaviest and now I’m 135 and have been for the past 9 months. It’s all about finding out how many calories YOUR body seems to need. And not going over that. I lost 90 lbs simply by having gallstones for 7 months, I didn't even diet or exercise. I went from 180 lbs to 90 lbs. Of course 90 lbs is underweight so I had to gain some weight back. I went up to 106 lbs and have stayed that weight for 8 years. All I had to do was give up fast food, junk food and sugary drinks AND of course keep track of my calories.

I had a bowel obstruction when I was 5. Doctor said to be on the lookout for scar tissue complications for the rest of my life. I saw a gastroenterologist last week, for the first, I'm getting a CT scan to see if everything's "alright alright alright". This lady wasn't listening to her body. The opioids definitely did not help her small bowel obstruction. Complicated (constipated) the issue . She was probably using opioids to mask all of her physical and emotional pains and didn’t seek proper medical attention (obviously) where death could’ve been prevented. She apparently wasn’t facing up to anything, IMO. She said at Graceland she never left her house…a bad combination of issues that led to this ultimately causing her death.

@@kmyles8599 Hi…thank you for your kind reply. I think she had bariatric surgery after the twins? So quite a few years ago to begin with and, no doubt, she knew the serious risks. It’s an elective surgery so I guess it can be like “swimming at your own risk” - over a period of time, adhesions formed from the surgery which caused an obstruction which in turn caused strangulation of the small intestines. She was ignoring her symptoms so her body was slowly poisoning itself (Sepsis) which led to an abrupt end. The the pain meds, no doubt, were only adding insult to injury, knowing the side affect they can cause. She basically is the cause of her own death, sadly. EDIT: I’m on 10 mg x 4 per day of Oxycodone and 1800 mg per day of time released Gabapentin for nerve damage due to a back injury. My condition is chronic and I’ve been under pain management for 5 years. Pain meds definitely cause bowel dysfunction but can be dealt with properly. LMP problem was probably due to the surgery from years ago and then add pain meds on top of it. Plus…I think she went on some crazy diet weeks before the GG Awards. She was a disastrous combo of serious issues waiting to happen and it did, unfortunately. Plus, you can probably factor in that she didn’t like leaving her house🤷‍♀️

Condolences to Priscilla's Presley's for the loss of her daughter. Isn't gastric bypass usually performed on morbidly overweight patients who haven't lost weight through diet and exercise? I've known a few whose joint replacement procedures required weight loss beforehand, and this was accomplished through gbs with one of these patients. Was Lisa Marie Presley ever severely overweight to justify gbs? I honestly don't recall any images of her that fit that description. May she Rest In Peace.

The opoids only compounded the issue. She developed the issue first from the surgery, then to cover up the pain, and now we know fatally so, used the pain meds. And development of small bowel obstructions is actually not as rare as the doc said. After all, we wouldn't want to steer people from lining the female doctors pockets, by informing people of the risks, now would we? Rest with your father Lisa Marie.

No, she did not. He didn’t die from strangulation of his small intestines due to bariatric surgery complications. His death was related to heart/polypharmacy. Not to say that it will change the cause of death as it was reported today, but the coroner’s office is still waiting on the results of the full toxicology report.

Whatever drugs she was taking must have masked the pain. Her stomach appears to be distended during that Golden Globes appearance but it's not very noticeable due to the loose fit of her dress. It's a shame that she didn't seek medical help earlier as it seems as though, with earlier treatment, her death could have been prevented.

Not only did the opiates cause her small bowel obstruction because of constipation, but she also had an unwillingness to seek medical help because of the stigma associated with drug abuse as well as the threat of having to discontinue the addiction because of her illness.

Yea having a small bowl obstruction and taking opioids must of been insanely tough on her digestive tract. Opiots slow down your digestive tract a lot. I'm shocked that she didn't go to the dr when she was having these issues. It could of been prevented.
