For your sock-fit issue, maybe try a 3x1 or other type of rib sock in a fun yarn? I find rib socks fit the absolute best, and if I knit them in a self-striping or otherwise interesting yarn it's lots of fun even without colourwork :)

Yes I love the way ribbed socks fit as well! However I am not the biggest fan of knitting ribbing so I can't get the motivation to make another pair of ribbed socks haha

Hi Lisa, I use Addi Flexi Flips for starting my socks. These are double point needles that are flexible. Very easy to knit with. Then after I knit a few inches I switch over to my Chia Goo long circular. This month I'm scrambling to finish my May socks. They are long knew socks with 2×2 rib all the way up. Thanks for another great video.

Hi Lisa!! You inspired me to unravel my first knit sweater and make another one because I really didn't like how it turned out, so that's what I'm doing rn! Thank you for the motivation hahah

Hi Lisa, my daughter is size EU 37 and narrow foot. Usually I knit socks for her using 2.5mm and 56 stitches or 2.25mm and 60 stitches. Both are using fingering weight yarn.

Thank you for letting me know! I will definitely try using those stitch counts for my next sock

Hey Lisa, I also am a sock size 37 and I found that 56 stitches on 2.5mm needles is perfect for me! For socks that aren't just vanilla (and that usually call for 64sts) I've considered going down to a needle size 2.25mm, but I haven't tried that yet. Maybe someone else has some input for that :)) Hope that helps you a bit!

For socks to use in shoes, make sure the yarn has a high twist. Don't use soft yarns, they felt easier - use those for home socks. Also, knit them tighter, the tighter on your foot, the lesser the friction. Superwash yarns grow, so knit them a little bit smaller. You can try put a nylon sewing thread along with your yarn when you knit the heels and toe.

I mainly use wooden DPNs but I do have a set of the Knitters Pride (i think they're Knit Pro in the UK) Nova Platina DPNs and I really like them.

I have size 38 with a normal foot in width and always use 56 stitches in the round. Maybe you could try making anklesocks with different amount of stitches too see wat is the right amount for you. If you have the wished for fit you can try making a longer sock and see if this amount of stitches is oke for your leg or if you have to decrease of increase.

Hi Lisa, I really want to start knitting and i wanna start with socks since people have recomend that. I would really love to see a sock tutorial by you since i love the way you explain things and i think your socks are really pretty:))

Ah thank you so much! I will make a sock video soon, it won't be a tutorial because I feel like there are many great ones out on the internet already. It will probably be more of a tips and tricks and recommendations video :)

Hi Lisa, I am working on a crochet top for my sister. I designed the pattern myself. I recently had to unravel a skirt I crocheted that was almost finished. That hurt a lot... I am restarting that project next month. I needed some time to recover
@lisasknitclub2 жыл бұрын
Ahh yes unraveling always hurts a little bit! But I am sure you will be so happy when restarting it and loving the end result :)

Maybe you could try the 8pm tank by tiffknit. I think it might be a bit more size inclusive since it uses a calculator including your measurments (like underbust, cups…) instead of just one size. And the look is kinda similar to the daphne top
@lisasknitclub2 жыл бұрын
Ohh I've just looked it up and really like it! I do really love the puffy sleeve pattern used in the Daphne Top but I might try using the bust for the 8pm tank and then doing the sleeves based on the Daphne top. Thanks for the recommendation 🥰

Hi Lisa, ai am wondering if it would help to wear some regular ankle socks on top of your knitted ones when wearing shoes? Not sure if that would help with the felting or getting them dirtier... may be worse but at least you can still see the pattern with the shoes on? :)
@lisasknitclub2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would be super comfortable and a little bit sweaty as well haha, but maybe for some people it could work. The main problem with felting is friction so I think that by adding an extra sock this wouldn't really be solved :(

I really want to learn how to knit socks. I have 2 different shoesizes 🤣 my left foot is 40,5 and my right foot about 39,5 😅
@lisasknitclub2 жыл бұрын
Haha you can perfectly make one sock a little bit bigger than the other one! That's the great thing about being able to make your own stuff, to be able to modify things to fit your body haha

Love your content. Have you already tried toe-up socks? There are some great tutorials on KZbin on how to adjust them to your feet.

No I haven't yet! So far pretty much all the patterns I've used for socks were for cuff down socks, but I really want to try a toe-up sock soon!
