The moment I first heard this song I didn't immediately fall for it but over time I began to appreciate it more and more. Now when I hear it - it makes me teary eyed. It reminds me of my mom when I was a kid I'd be acting up and not realizing how bad her day went I put all of the attention on myself. Now looking back as a grown man I wished I would have been more giving less selfish. Mom is still alive thank God. It’s been 40yrs but I still remember sitting in the assembly hall at Rochdale’s Redbrook Middle School watching a handful of brave students perform at the annual talent show. Suddenly, we were all gobsmacked when Lisa Stansfield walked out and absolutely crushed Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive”. She was amazing. It’s awesome Lisa is still recognized for her beautiful voice. I got to say hi during her in-store signing at Tower Records on Sunset Blvd, and enjoyed a show in Chicago.
