It’s been 40yrs but I still remember sitting in the assembly hall at Rochdale’s Redbrook Middle School watching a handful of brave students perform at the annual talent show. Suddenly, we were all gobsmacked when Lisa Stansfield walked out and absolutely crushed Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive”. She was amazing. The moment I first heard this song I didn't immediately fall for it but over time I began to appreciate it more and more. Now when I hear it - it makes me teary eyed. One that had lied to him all his life until he was 42 years old. He felt that he couldn't trust anyone. Yes he divorced me, I didn't see it coming. It took me a while to relived that I was that all woman raising 3 children working 1 half job. That it wasn't the marriage I wanted. 10 months after the divorce he moved to another city one month there he came back and asked me to marry.
