@@camera2178 80,000 health points doesn't automatically mean an opponent is "hard". Lisa doesn't exactly have a balanced combat system, so satan is easy if you know what you're doing. If satan was resistant to stun-related effects and poison, and characters such as terry, birdie, carp, olan, or bo were nerfed, then satan wouldn't be such a pushover.

I actually did a joyless run with no arms and I expected him to be a lot tougher since his atmosphere made me tense. I stunned him like 3-4 times using mad dog to burn (has a weapon with a chance to stun) and brad's headbutt and using olan for poison and bo for healing/recover from status. I guess I got lucky that playthrough because nobody perma-killed my teammates (excep buzzo and russian roulette). So you don't have to use joy (or items if you have Bo) and you don't have to wait till endgame

+RyleRider I guess you don't. My second playthrough I started in the meantime was also joyless, but semi-selfish with one arm. Not the best conditions, but I decided to fight Satan anyway and it worked out miraculously well. I suppose an effective party lineup matters much more than how good just Brad is or another individual damage dealer.

Thanks! If one takes the time to really explore the battle system and always play methodically, LISA is not too hardcore of an RPG of course (even at this point). A lot of people seem to play it very casually though, not overthinking it. My guess is that if anywhere, those folks will be pretty overwhelmed when they get to Mike :).

Strategies completely change up once you learn Mend, and there are some enemies you can Fluster and others you can't. (Arty, a greatly dangerous Joy Mutant, is very weak to it, but the even stronger Harry is less weak to it than Arty and Sweetheart, arguably the strongest Joy Mutant in the entire series and even stronger than Satan, is completely immune to it) Honestly, I think the main problem with JOYFUL really boils down to you only having one character for the more difficult half of the game. This makes a lot of the bosses end up being pretty much the same strategy- wise, which is most obvious comparing Big Lincoln to Sweetheart. What I think would be really cool, and fix most of the game's problems, is if Buzzo eventually replaces Rando as your other party member, which would change up the gameplay while still allowing for more stategic boss battles later on.. This would even fit with the plot, since Buzzo is completely absent from the game up until you fight Sweetheart.

Just fought him in Pain Mode, he was really easy, I just had Nern insult him to lock Satan out of his perma-kill moves, then with a joyed Brad(mostly using Charge Headbutt) and Olan(Mega Rapid Arrow), bombarded him with crits, with Percy on the side buring him.

Beat this guy without even needing to revive a party member, I don't believe anyone even fell into the danger zone, Brad, Harvey, Bo, Buckets. Legal Documents and Bo's debuffs, plus Bo's Iron Body, Curative and Buffers, Bucket's consistent hits, Brad utilizing all status inducing attacks, and Item usage at specific times. The first half of the battle was being won by Satan attacking himself during consistent confusion and adverse status damage. Otherwise he was nearly always incapacitated.

If you just use Fly in your party and puke on Satan, he becomes blind, enraged, and scared which makes him unable to instant kill or damage your party at all.

Pretty sure you can deep poison him with geese and take like 18k HP Every turn. Though status proc stacking works on really any boss, no matter the HP.

Funniest part is my party was massively underleveled besides Olan and then i went and lost to the Bath Bois because i didnt realize Brad had a move that could stop them all from attacking.

I have heard that in early builds, the fight itself was nigh-unwinnable and meant more as a trap for the overconfident. Maybe it has to do with this change of character?

I think I read on the Wiki that it was changed to Exploding Hearts because it's just Mike or... something... but I know for SURE I fought Satan with the IAmSatan theme playing. He took far longer than your fight, too, but you had a better strat than me... a-also, regretably, I wasn't... playing on Pain Mode. I hate to admit that. :v I should give it a proper Pain run soon. Regardless, I just found it interesting. :P I played it back in October 2015, so I dunno if there was a patch before or after that. All I know is it too ages to widdle him down and it had IAmSatan playing.

Funny thing I beat this joyless with Terry Birdie and Fardy half the time it was terry dealing 9000 dammage other half Fardy dealing 8000 Brad sometimes launched fireballs but satan used headchop... on Brad MULTIPLE TIMES the only permanent death I had other than Russian Roulette Was when fighting Beady he killed Fardy however I save scummed because It was my first time playing...

I briefly thought of making a similar video for him, but since he's immune to any kind of trickery I could think of, you really just trade blows with him and heal up when needed until it's over. The soundtrack still makes the fight a worthwhile experience :).

Seriously, Satan is overrated, I've battled him during two runs and defeated him in the first attempt without using joy in both and without having any deaths The first one with Brad/Terry/Nern/Olan and the second one with the same team, but Birdie instead of Olan Just Trash Talk or Insult with Terry/Nern, get him pissed, then hype up Brad/Olan and restore SP/TP when needed, and use Brad and Olan/Birdie for offense (or Terry with Hottest Dance and Nern with Finger Beam 6 if needed) When using Olan, Mega Rapid Arrow and Vantage Point are your best friends, when using Birdie, Gasoline Spit in combo with Brad's Fireball 4 and Secret Stash are top tier gg ez this bitch ain't nothing

Killed him first time while party was in its mid twenties. Olan hid, Birdie oiled him, Brad & Mad Dog diesel bombed him, and fireballed. Had to do it twice cause first run he killed Birdie. Bonus points: No arms, no joy, Brad suffered withdrawal right before both fights.
