It's an interesting yet risky concept for a saga: letting the fans expand it. It can be a pretty awesome thing thanks to the support of the community, everybody can put a smidge of lore. But, that also means any random crap would be "canon". I guess in the end is up to each one to determine what they want to considerate canon, and that's cool.

Even when this becomes a very outdated version of Pointless, this trailer will still hold up extremely well. It's one of my favourite trailers from any kind of media. I'd be tempted to recreate it using the newer game, if that isn't the plan already.

None, and thats my point, many LISA fan stuff always ended up showing one or two videos of underwhelming concepts before the devs giving up or getting into background drama. This on the other hand has a really nice concept and feels fresh while also complementing LISA's core style.

Man... the first chapter showed us the beginning of a lot of mysteries that haven't even begun to be resolved, such as the truth behind the unquenchable thirst for violence every member or the Infinity Franchise gains, what exactly is waiting in the city, as well as the exact circumstances behind that fat Buzzo wannabe's connection to that doctor, but the thing that piques my curiosity the most has to be the truth behind that demented TV program that airs on every working television in Olathe. There was just something so off-kilter and ominous behind that program and it's hosts that I really wanna figure out what their whole deal is.

I just came across this recently and I'm really impressed on how much you were able to emulate the original game's atmosphere and feeling, while giving it your own unique signature to it. Particularly liked the TV segments especially. The soundtrack composition in this reminds me of a mix of Dingaling's stuff and Kelly Bailey's stuff. Really is impressive work all around. Really hope you'll be able to complete everything you have planned for this, but I'm really happy of the stuff already out so far.

Am I wrong in thinking that the Pointless is better than the original LISA games? It improves on just about everything in the Painful while blowing the Joyful out of the water. The Pointless is super atmospheric, the settings feel lived-in and authentic, the gameplay is far more intense, the sprite work is phenomenal (no more constant palette-swaps), there are lots of memorable and distinct characters (like Lester), and the whole game feels like it has more effort put into it (like with how enemies have sprites for their corpses). The music isn't quite as good and Alex isn't as fleshed-out as Brad was, but that might change once the rest of the game is done.

Painful had more party members so it feels more like an RPG, while Pointless felt like a survival game where you have to manage resources efficiently. Also Painful feels more horror with the joy mutants, the random events, hallucinations, while Pointless feels more like a buddy-n-cop story with some supernatural things going on. The depression theme is also less touched, more about mystery of the Infinity Unfold members. Pointless' brilliance came from being able to create an entirely fascinating lore / world that doesn't feel out of place based on the Painful, and the Painful should get credit for being the first one, I think. So equal in terms of overall quality imo.

How strange, do the save files appear in your save folder? If not file serch for "Save01.rvdata2" on your PC and place them in your LISA the pointless directory, where they belong.
