Lisa: The Pointless | Ultimate Fix | Revamped Intro To Garbage Island

This is a showcase of a reworked event from the mod I am making.
The mod will be called The Ultimate Fix - it is a mod to the Ultimate Modpack for LISA: The Pointless.
It aims to rework, rewrite and rebalance the game to bring it up at least to the high standard that original Pointless presented.

okay so, this is the first time I'm gonna have to say that this could definitely use some work. the stilted speech that shows up in every video needs to be fixed and its okay to use bigger text boxes. joel also doesnt really sound like himself, stuff like "blessed bosom" and talking way way too long. The dialogue is again, also way too long. The original pointless explained things way better with "randos mobilizing his army and shooting anyone who gets too close" instead of joel rambling about how he doesnt trust them and how hes going to find passage that doesnt involve the bridge. personally i think this needs a rewrite or at the very least just use base pointless's one. i hate to be reductive but i think that this new dialogue misses the whole point of the original scene

Cutting out that phrase, didn't think it would sound that weird. Anyway, the point was that in Vanilla Joel presents the situation to Alex and then asks "do you trust me" - this is what I have an issue with, because there isn't any sensical way Alex wouldn't trust Joel. There is nothing suspicious about his proposal, there is nothing suspicious about Joel himself - he saved Alex and now offering the help again. So why would the player ever not trust Joel? I reworked the text like that: Joel tells Alex that right now there is a way out, but it's held by Rando army. Alex doesn't know any details, but he can try to leave alone. But Joel says that they won't let him go and offers to arrange another way out, which requires not going to existing one (that can possibly be absolutely safe and fine), and waiting for Joel to return and then rely on him entire time. This at least make the grounds for suspicions have sense - what if Joel helped Alex recover to sell him as a worker-slave, for example. It's the original that wanted to add the whole trust conundrum, I'm just trying to make it actually be a conundrum for the new player and not a contrived choice.

Except even "insistent" doesn't apply - in vanilla Alex himself says "I need to get out of this island" (before even experiencing the island at all), and Joel reacts to that with "I know just the guy", he doesn't even offer it on his own!

I am not really a fan of how he speaks Like This And In general His dialogue feels a bit off And it was In my opinion Kinda worse Than The original Also Why does Joel sound so Gay?

I know this style of formatting feels weird on footage, but when you play and click through at your own pace short singular sentences get consumed immediately, literally subconsciously, not breaking the flow of the scene, while long texts with multiple separate elements feel uncomfortable to read. Chunking text emulates periods and commas in a more natural way than literally putting these in the text.

Schoolboy turns Alex into Mary Sue, who always does the right thing. Kills conflicts and balance, made cringe and 4 wall breaks, adds dodge, heal and few more stuff to literally every playable character. If you want to make another Drunkard's Paradise, where everyone happy and can be saved after the cliff - start from the zero. You have no rights to turn good works (not talking about modpack) into delusional garbage with fake balance and rainbow no conflicts world.
