Hi, I've watched in other favourite videos that she tends to stick to products for a long time once she's decided she likes the quality and the product. So unlike KZbin makeup "gurus" she tends to advocate and use the same products for a while. Which is probably why you won't see a favourites of the month type video from Lisa. That said, please do check out her blog. She updates regularly and there is a ton of skincare and makeup info there that is updated with newer ingredients and products.

I think the whole “updated routines” are more of a beauty guru thing. Their career depends on keeping up with what’s new and what brands they can sponsor and get people to buy. Professional make up artists, such as Lisa,do more clientele work and don’t have to try to sell you a product. What’s good is good and most foundations aren’t so amazing to make a part 2 to this

We do need an updated video. Why? Because new products are always coming out. It has nothing to do with selling products. Much better foundations have come out since this video came out. We don’t live in the world of filtered lenses. Some of the foundations have zero coverage. Updated video please!!!!

Powerfulriver Lymouri yeah I agree we you. Lisa being the kind person that she is, actually updated an organic makeup product video. I own the Chanel, the Make Up For Ever and the YSL and they are absolutely gorgeous! Foundation I think is the one thing to invest in, it is what i focus on the most and what people notice first is how beautiful your skin looks. Splurge on a high-end foundation and get a high street/drugstore mascara! GREAT series Lisa, you are so nice and professional, I love you!

I have it. It's a very siliconey, very slippery primer. It's great if you have problems applying thick, long lasting foundations that are for oily skin, BUT if your foundation is moisturizing or thin, it will slip right off your face and separate. I found the primer to work well on my dry skin with foundations like Pro Longwear from MAC, Estee Lauder's double wear, Guerlain's Parure, Revlon Colorstay, Clarin's Long Lasting, and a few more. Helps with even application, but less with wear time.

I'd love to see a video where you talk about the differences between all these high end products you use in your pro kit and the drugstore/high street products that you sometimes recommend and use in your tutorials. Is it just a matter of clients wanting the high end stuff? What are the differences in formulations/ingredients? Are the high end ones really worth the extra money? Thanks! The foundation series has been great.

Hey Love, I'm not Lisa but I am a makeup artist. For a high quality foundation that I use on clients that are silicone sensitive I use the Cover FX Natural Finish Oil-Free Foundation. It does contain Dimethicone but most people who are sensitive to silicone aren't sensitive to Dimethicone. If even Dimethicone is a problem for you check out the kett hydro airbruch foundation. Best way to apply it w/o an airbrush is with a duo fiber brush. Hope that helps.

Love love love the YSL foundation. I was a bit hesistant as I have combination oily skin, but I use a primer and set with a powder and it lasts all day. The real test is if you rub it into the back of your hand, you can see that it doesn't emphasise the lines in the back of your hand. Same on your face, doesn't sit in and emphasise the pores or wrinkles in your face.

Lisa, In the last couple months I've noticed a change in my skin. I've always been normal combo on the slightly dry side... Now I've noticed slight dry patches on one side of my cheek and other smaller areas down the middle of my face. The only foundations I have now that I can use without it catching those areas is DiorSkin Nude & Mac face & body. My MUFE HD, Nars sheer glow & Mac prolong wear don't work 4 me anymore. They are a little old a year or 2 and seem to have gotten lighter.

Totally agree. Had such high hopes, works great for cool undertones, but barely anything for warmer undertones. Slips off the skin and doesn't last long at all. Apparently Loreal's Lumi Foundation is a dupe for it, but I actually prefer it to YSL, but it too barely lasts a few hours.

To cover a reddish purple, start with a greenish yellow base. Google a color wheel and it will help you a lot with creating a prefect canvas for your makeup. The makeup forever flash pallet is amazing but pricey. I have a sonia kashuk(sp) concealer pallet that has a green and a flesh colors that's decent for reddish acne and acne scars. You can even use a creme blush in a orangeish red to help cover blueish undereyes beautifully. Lightly layer your contrasting color(s) and THEN apply concealer.
