Hi Lisa, I am Korean and I’ve been following you on youtube for the last ten years. You are the best makeup artist who truly understands the fundamentals of Korean skin care and has the ability to combine it and apply it to the western makeup techniques… It’s a rare talent and you are so good at mixing and matching the best techniques of the East and the West. I’ve moved to NYC from Seoul last year and noticed that the make up trend in the US is trending towards more natural make up away from the cakey make up and I strongly feel that you’ve played a big role in that. ❤️ I am a huge fan of yours!!

I know if a Korean girl gives the stamp of approval it’s a winner! I so wish I had a friend in Korea (our neighbors and my stand in mom is Korean-but doesn’t go back to Korea. While I get kimchi when I’m sick I’ve got no one to get into Korean skin care with me). Do you have any favorite websites for Korean skincare or makeup? I love glowy CC cushions.

Yes! It makes me nuts when people are doing their makeup and they'll start applying a product and just go, "And now I'll boend," and the next clip the makeup is perfectly applied. It's especially annoying when you can see the product application isn't starting off so well and the its perfect.

Hi, Lisa! I'm a teenage girl and you're one of the few beauty channels I enjoy watching. I love your approach to makeup and I really admire your artistry. I loved this video (and already ordered the new highlighter), but I really appreciate your realism when it comes to the whole “perfect skin” issue. My daughter is only 11 but is starting to have issues with hormonal spots etc and when I try and explain the focus should be on caring for her skin both inside and out she thinks I’m talking rubbish! I had acne as a teenager and really look after my skin and try to teach my daughter the same ethos. I feel really sorry for young girls now, there seems to be so much emphasis on body perfection, skin perfection etc etc and it’s just not realistic. Thank you for being honest about this, I’ll show my daughter and hopefully she’ll believe you. X

You look phenomenal. ♥️ All of this fits you very well - as the true artist that you are (on mixing and matching in this specific case). I was wondering specifically if using loose powder instead of pressed (both clear and pigmented) and would make a noticeable difference? A big THANK YOU for the tips mentioning “problem” areas. My skin looks much better now (hoping to reach that level of perfection) but I do struggle with the occasional spot, even though I’m 32 and having done skincare religiously for the past decade at the very least. The good thing is that even though I use potent ingredients (or pharmaceutical products), I take my moisturizing and sunscreen very seriously and I actually do not experience any peeling or dry skin. So I cannot wait to try this look myself, I personally prefer it over the “glass skin” which I actually never attempted to do because it seemed a bit too unrealistic for me personally and too shiny for my combination skin. Also, I’ll most likely try this step by step after purchasing Pink Moon because it looks absolutely stunning. (I’m shade 9 so I have high hopes, as Crystal Nebula is also fantastic and I loved you mixing them.) Thank you again for breaking down seemingly easy make-up looks in such detail and being lovely and encouraging as always!

I am having a hard time pulling off the "glass" (or whatever) skin look, because I have VERY large pores. Which is almost ironic, as you would probably conclude that I have oily skin, but in fact it's rather dry, but my pores are very large anyways. Having glowing skin only emphasises them, which then overall looks terrible. There are primers that help a bit conceal the pores, but again, they assume that large pores=oily, so they are also mattifying, so.... I would love to hear how to pull off this look with large pores. Would the powder foundation trick help?
@LisaEldridge2 жыл бұрын
The mineral powder certainly helps this a does using a light layer of a skin blurring foundation over those areas (as I did). These types of products are good as they have enough light reflection to blur the area but without appearing greasy in any way so the eye no longer focuses on pores . Hope that makes sense xx
@Ty-ih9cu2 жыл бұрын
For clients I mix a pore smoothing primer with a liquid highlighter that sets. Works a treat but it's important to use a liquid highlighter that has a pearl based shine and not an oil/skincare shine. If it sets down then it's most likely pearl based. The ABH liquid highlighters work well for this but now that I'm thinking about it I'm pretty sure benefit has a pearlized version of their porefessional primer. That would be perfect.

Have you tried niacinamide to help with the pores? I had similar skin issues, but since I started using niacinamide serum every day my pores are SO much smaller!
@jarmillex31982 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, Lisa! Thank you also Ty and Marianne for your tips. Yes, I have been using niacinamide for a long time now; I tried several brands, currently I settled on Typology (which I discovered thanks to Lisa, too; a bit ironically as it's a French brand and I happen to live in France :) ). Anyway, niacinamide does not seem to do much for the size of my pores, irrespective of the brand (but I've been using the products I use, because they help improve my skin in other ways). What seems to almost magically help with reducing the appearance of my pores (in the most effective way so far) is Victoria Beckham's priming moisturiser (as a skincare product, rather than a primer - the effect is not instantaneous, but rather happens over time), the only downside of it is that it's pretty pricey...
