I wonder how many of us have those memories of grandmothers and their lipsticks. I, too, have memories of watching my (blind) grandmother put on her Cherries in the Snow -perfectly every time. She'd put her little finger on her chin and off she'd go. She'd say she was 'well acquainted' with her lips and didn't need to see them. She'd make me practise the same way and somehow knew when I got it wrong - and right. Fifty years later, I still apply my lipstick this way with my eyes closed. Thanks for creating yet another fab lipstick. I can't wait to recieve mine and use it. Xx

I've never thought about it but now that I'm reading your comment I'm realizing that I indeed remember perfectly the lipsticks that my mother, my grandmother and my aunt used to wear. I think the reason behind it might be that they would always use the same one (same brand, same signature color), and also that we were already interested in makeup even as little girls, so we would simply pay attention.

Lisa, this is gorgeous! I can see it being a special item for many people. When I was little, my grandma had a gold metal tube of bright red lipstick that she would wear on special occasions. After she passed, we had to clear out her house to get it ready to sell. My mom asked me what I wanted that belonged to my grandma and all I could think of was that tube of lipstick. My mom told me that she had thrown it out a few days prior. I was disappointed. On my last day at the house, I did a final walk through, taking it all in. I looked down at the kitchen table and in the middle of a dish of random items, sat that gold tube of lipstick. I still have it and oddly enough it smells just like it did when I was a kid. @@yumitemple I wear #9! I previously had #11 which was a fine match but not perfect, I felt it was a little bit yellow. Now it's my summer shade. #9 is perfectly neutral without being grey or orange (that's usually the problem I see with olive or neutral shades), but I know she also has a #9.5 if you're more olive than neutral. I don't know if she still has those, but I got the little sample card (it came with a purchase) so I could check for my perfect shade!

Oh this brings back memories of my late grandmother....in her beautiful powder room which always smelled of Shalimar and roses, she had a little dish with three beautiful gold lipsticks. One of them was that classic Clinique tube. One of the others had a ring of rhinestones around the middle. I remember opening the tubes as a child and sniffing them! It's so vivid and stamped in my memory, and yet was 35 years ago. I'm sure one of my aunts or cousins has those beautiful tubes now, I should ask! I have to say, I noticed you didn't use a really fair-skinned model in your campaigns for your recent releases-unlike earlier releases. As someone based in the US, that can only order online, I used to rely on that model as an indication of the level of contrast a product would have against my skin tone. That's amazing! In modern makeup I only seen lipstick made of all aluminium pieces once. More than a decade ago I had a lipstick from an Italian brand (don't remember the name). It got squished and as I was throwing it away I saw that it was all aluminium.

This actually may be my dream lipstick. I adore the balmy, buildable opacity finish and it just looks absolutely beautiful. All the shades, as mentioned, are gorgeous but I found Lisa especially striking (good choice for the name !). All the current shades look like they’d work beautifully on my tan skin, which is certainly something I’ve never seen before this. You really can tell how much work and love went into these lipsticks, and I absolutely cannot wait to try it. If everyone can buy this is will prove to both Lisa and the industry in general that the public wants and DEMANDS that cosmetic companies make MAJOR changes in the EXTREME level of waste they create. So much of the beauty products sold via KZbin and Instagram is contributing to millions and at Sephora are the major contributors to plastic waste in our world and we need to show companies that products like these should be the NORM and not unique and expensive!! My Ashes of Roses turned up today, wow it's gorgeous. A light swipe is a gorgeous reddy, cool my lips but better for me (my lips are cool, almost purple) and when built up looks almost a bit vampy/goth/autumnal in the best way possible. What a lovely shade!

This is so cool, as someone who has never bought your makeup before I would consider buying just because of its cool sustainability and innovation of the packaging. This what big beauty brands need to be thinking about in terms of the future of makeup and I am honestly so glad that someone has come up with something so new and challenging. This a particularly special launch. I really did not realise initially. I got mine today and it has changed my whole mood. The shades are better than any Ive got in years. The blue in Romy, ashes of roses and medici is what my naturally jounticed palor needs. But the packaging is beyond description. I feel like ive sneaked off an item from the V&A! It sits on my work desk (wfh) and smile when i look away from the screen and see it siting there beutiful and serene. Already budgeting for my next purchase. I have a feeling I will be needing a lot more Romys.

Lisa, I truly appreciate the thought and care that you put into your products. I have been turned off by so many refillable lipsticks becuase the designs are at best not well thought out (with magnets and plastic) and at worst not really refillable (with hard to find refills, refills that only work in the cases, so you need multiples, or case designs that get replaced with new cases of different dimensions). This design is answer to all my grievances ❤. I loved all the colors and decided on Ashes of Roses and Simone (plus a lip Pencil in 2W). Over the moon with this beautiful launch.

That moment of using the pointy edge of the lipstick bullet to do the lip line rushed my memory back to childhood, watching my mum expertly doing her makeup. She didn’t wear it often but was very good at it when she did. I also remember she wore dark grey liquid or pencil eyeliner for a softened effect and to accentuate her grey eyes.

"The Lisa" looks like the perfect everyday color! I think it would work well on me too. I also have a lot of blue in my lips. I never thought to get a shade that cancels it out. Cool tones go cooler and brighter, and warm tones go orange. This one looks just right! I might have to email your team to verify- i agree. They are great! They have suggested to me before the color Rose Official, which has been on my wish list!

I wanted to put this comment on here to help picking which shade I’m a 10 foundation I thought Lisa would be too pink for me but it looks perfect on me Muse is my OG nude/brown Blush lightly my OG pink I found love of my life too pink and painterly too brown for me to wear on a day to day basis Love it, she’s not lying when she says they are a perfect everyday lipstick. That's really helpful! Thanks! Kitten Mischief leans brown/orange on me, Spirited Away was too deep for me and Je Ne Sais Quoi is ok but not quite the right tone. Most of Lisa's lipsticks are way too saturated for me, or too deep. I have thin mature lips and I'm shade 10/T6. I really want a muted mid-tone neutral pink that isn't too deep in tone! I got Ashes of Roses but it's wrong/too dark for me, so I think Lisa is my next try. Or wait until next year!

I got my orders and love everything. I bought 4 engraved lipstick cases and I got 3 colors with 2 refills of each one. I’m so happy with the formula and colors. To be honest, although I'm one of your biggest fans (mine was one of the first posts on Instagram about the first trio of lipsticks, and I think there's only one launch I didn't order anything from, and that was only a shade extension 😅), I was sceptical. What's so special about a refillable lipstick, there's plenty of them! After watching the video, I'm in awe. The amount of attention to detail is crazy! Making sure we know the peculiarities of recycling??? I should have known the Queen of Lipstick doesn't disappoint. My grandma had a lot of Estee Lauder lipsticks, the blue ridged ones. She was one of the ladies never leaving the house for serious business without lipstick on. I am a bit said to this day that I didn't save one of the cases when she died. We also shared a given name. So now I'm rushing to buy one, and I'll pass it on to my daughter, so she'll have two, because there is no way I'm giving it to her when I can still use it and also I'm not letting her use any subpar stuff when she's old enough to appreciate a power red. ❤
