This has been my absolute best experience with a tutorial so far! I mean, there are tons of awesome teachers out here and I’m grateful to all of them. But you stand out because of the absolute creativity of your art AND that I was able to follow along to 85% accuracy (I think). And how gorgeous are those brushes! Worth every buck!

Lisa! Your work is absolutely gorgeous! I can't decide between your dreamland pack or your vintage tales pack! Help!
@Lisaglanz
@Lisaglanz 4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your lovely comments! Ooooo! That's a hard one 😅 I would say Dreamland is more for layering colour with various textures and Vintage Tales has more wet brushes similar to watercolour but also includes some interesting texture brushes. So it depends a lot on your style of creating. Not sure if that was helpful at all!?!

Loved your videos! And brushes. Omg. I am contemplating buying the iPad Pro, your brushes are gorgeous! I must have them :) And oh! I have a silly question, I see you are wearing a glove of sorts ? Is that helpful for drawing on the iPad ?
@Lisaglanz
@Lisaglanz 11 ай бұрын
Thank you !! Super happy you're enjoying them xx The iPad Pro really made a difference for me 😊 Not a silly question - The glove is helpful if you find you keep accidentally undoing all the time. Even though I have the palm rejection etc, my hand kept accidentally initiating the undo function which was very annoying. So the glove definitely helps with that, but it can take a little bit of getting used to as it's not as comfortable drawing without it. Hope that helps!

If I wanted to make a portrait like this but of my niece and then print it and put a wooden frame on it,...what canvas should I have in pixels or cm? so it doesn't get lost when printing
@Lisaglanz
@Lisaglanz 3 ай бұрын
It depends on how big you'd like your final print to be. Ideally you want to create your artwork the same size, or bigger, than the final printed size at 300dpi. So if you'd like an A3 print for example, your canvas should be 297mm x 420mm at 300dpi. You only start losing quality if your artwork is low-res and you enlarge it more than 120% of it's original size. So always create the artwork on a canvas that's at least the same size as the final print at 300 dpi resolution. Hope that helps!

Hi there! I love this new set. I had a question regarding the color burn brush. I want to draw a girl with blonde hair but it ends up looking reddish orange. Is there any way to achieve a blonde look with this brush? Thank you!
@Lisaglanz
@Lisaglanz 11 ай бұрын
So glad you're enjoying the brushes! The burnt pencil works similar to the colour burn blend mode, so as you paint over the same area several times, the colour starts to "burn" into the colour that's already on the canvas. For blonder hair I would recommend using a very pale yellow - even cream, you'll notice how more intense the yellow will be when you paint. As you paint with the paler colour the burned areas won't be as reddish in colour. Hope that helps!

Lovely brushes I really like them... But I tried to follow this tutorial to get an idea of the brushes. I also used the same color palette... Somehow my colors were much brighter or in general different than yours (like the BG color was less red) Worked on a sRGB canvas... Was this the mistake?
@Lisaglanz
@Lisaglanz 10 ай бұрын
So glad you're enjoying the brushes! I used the sRGB profile as well so your colours should be the same. I used quite a few different blend modes, perhaps you might have used a different one to mine or maybe the opacity on those layers are different? It's hard to tell what could be causing the issue without seeing your document. If you like, I'd be happy to take a closer look at your file, you can send me an email to help@lisaglanz.com and include a link to download your file, or send me some screenshots of your layers panel and I can try and figure out the problem for you 😊

@@Lisaglanz thank you dear 😍 it's not that I want to do it exactly the same way but I was wondering whether I used the brushes wrong... For example her skin in the face hasnt had any texture at all. I will see whether I find the mistake I probably made . If not I would be glad about help thanks a lot and have a great day 😊

Ok I did it a second time (more practice hoho) and this time it worked out better. I think I used a different tone for the face and background than you. I don’t have an Apple pen. Can I still get the same effects?
@Lisaglanz
@Lisaglanz 6 ай бұрын
In general, the brushes are created for the Apple Pencil, and some settings in Procreate are specifically set for the Apple Pencil especially when it comes to how the brushes behave when applying pressure etc. So you won't unfortunately benefit from that.But having said that, you will most likely still be able to get a lot of enjoyment and use out purchased brushes. The only thing is there might be some brushes that rely on the Apple Pencil to give specific results, these brushes will probably not behave as they were originally intended to which could be very frustrating for you. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.
