I agree. I was in the hospital last February. I ordered a diabetic diet thinking it would be lower in carbs. French toast and pancakes with sugary syrup. Breakfast cereal. Sauce with every meal. Bread with every meal. I was disappointed to say the least

I completely agree with you. I dropped my RD long ago. My health was harmed by following the nutrition "science" I was taught in college and internship. I'm very insulin resistant and autoimmune because of all the unhealthy low fat, high carb, nonsense taught to dietitians. Meat heals and all the noise from the nutrition establishment won't change that, or the dismal results of their advice.

Thank you. People can get so dogmatic about this diet. I started carnivore Aug of 2020 and by Aug 2021 I had lost 130 pounds. I didn't stop having my 1 Bang Energy every morning, I still used seasoning, low carb sauces (SF ketchup, ranch, etc) and didn't eat organs/grass finished meats. I added coffee back this last winter. I use organic liquid stevia ($14 for 8oz on Amazon) and Jordans Skinny Syrups. I have added liver to my diet now. I just have to blend it in a food processor then mix it with raw ground beef to "hide" it. I am also fortunate enough to get to run a homestead/farm with my husband where we raise chickens, ducks, goats(meat and dairy), and sheep. We are also able to run a beef calf on my moms place. We grain finish our meat animals to add fat, flavor and to cut the out the some if not all of the gamey flavor. You have to do the version on Carnivore that best fits Your lifestyle. If you don't you will never be able to stick with it.

I am grateful for that however at the same time a bit disappointed that my results are not as good as some.. Took nearly two months to see any results. I am going to have to tweak something.

@@caligirl2945 My mom has tried Carnivore and now my husband is giving it a go. What works for me has been different for them. I do good eating "boring". I like to stick to my beef, eggs, butter, and smaller amounts of cheese, but I can tolerate any meats, 0 sugar 0 carb drinks, and sauces just fine. My mom does better with adding in some carbs and my poor husband can't have eggs. You have to play with the diet to find what best works for your body. Lion Diet (beef & water only) is a really good elimination diet to help find how your body reacts to different foods. Going on the Lion Diet for 2 weeks or up to 30 days then slowly add back things back into your diet helps find your form of carnivore. It could be a strict carnivore or a more ketovore or hypercarnivore.

Hi Amy...if its any consolation I eat avocados all the time...Great source of fat & I have salads & veg daily except the ones not allowed like potato sweet potato pea's etc. They always go on my plate with my steak ( cooked in butter) & I also have berries with cream & lo cal jelly as my treat...This way of eating has helped me shed 9kilos & my hubby 17 kilos... Lisa has other underlying issues where she has found eating veg etc irritates her gut health If you dont have gut problems you can eat the allowed greens etc ..Everyone is different & most of us do have to ween out the foods that stop our weight loss or make us feel unwell.. Please dont let having avocados & salad Stop you from going keto at least....You will still do very well.

I 100% agree- but I actually need to eat the avocados bc I do not like the yolk-which is essential to this diet since it contains the fat. so I eat a half of avocado with my egg whites. This video made me take a huge sigh of relief…. I’ve been eating Carnivore for about 30 days and as a perfectionist, I get anxious about all the different “rules” as well. I also find Dr. Berry incredibly easy to understand and his approach makes me feel calm about the process. And your approach also makes me feel less anxious about doing it “right”. The next 30 days I plan to eat when I’m hungry, eat what sounds good to me (I could also live off eggs) and I’m not tracking calories or macros anymore. Gonna just breathe, eat, sleep and repeat. 💜

Every single carnivore/ketovore I’ve seen looks like they’re literally glowing and full of life. They talk so clearly and concisely. Their skin is always clear and you can just tell they feel good. Their weight is always perfect, eyes are expressive, etc. Meanwhile every vegan/vegetarian I’ve seen looks so tired and sick. They look bony with sunken eyes. It really just shows which foods we should be eating. I recently started low carb so I’m still having some fruits and veggies but I’m focusing on cutting out cereals, sugary snacks, sodas, pastas, rice, and potatoes mostly. I’m still sometimes having bread if I’m eating a burger or a burrito but it’s such a small amount compared to how I used to be. I feel better already honestly. I’m eating more fish and meat and drinking more water and milk. I’m not sure what the stance on dairy is for carnivores/ketovores, but I just can’t give it up. I love milk, cheese, and yogurt and I’m trying to have zero sugar yogurt which has been good. I’ve noticed my anxiety has gone down a lot. I’m definitely going to be doing it the same way you do once I go full carnivore, I probably will have processed meat here and there and I’m certainly not going to be focusing on if something is organic, free range, or grass fed 😂 Thank you so much for this. I really needed it

Hi Lisa! I just wanted to tell you that for 2 years (I'm 71) my legs hurt, I mean ached, but only at night when I tried to sleep. I lost soooo much sleep. Well, my husband lost 24 pounds while doing a keto diet. I decided to lose a few pounds too, so I began to eliminate everything from my diet except for meat, and heavy cream in my coffee. Well, the first thing I noticed was I was sleeping solidly through the night with absolutely no leg pain, my joints stopped hurting, and I didn't have stomach issues. I can't believe it! I decided to put it all to the test and begin to eat normally, and that very night I was up all night again, with aching legs. I will stay on this diet, or rather, lifestyle for the rest of my life, simply because the pain is gone, but the added benefit is weight loss! I'm so happy to see this video, even though it's an older one because it reinforces my new lifestyle! Thank you so much! hugs, Jeanie

Kerry Gold butter is the one and only for me. Nothing beats it! I do not use aerosol cans, like the spray oil you mentioned because the olive oil contains a lot of harmful chemicals that end up getting eaten or breathed in. Some of the chemicals are to keep the oil from frothing, etc. The best bet is to pour real olive oil into a tinted glass spray bottle and keep it in a room temperature cupboard, away from the stove and not in the fridge. The spray bottle should be glass and tinted because the clear bottle will let the sun hit the oil and the oil will be ruined. There are actually a lot of these containers available for purchase on the Internet. The aerosols also leave ground level ozone. Once the can is empty the container itself is a hazardous waste.

I've basically been doing a Keto for over 2 years and recently just went full throttle to carnivore and the results are 10 times superior. I brought some plain Hamburger patties with cheese to lunch at work the other day and got made fun of but I managed to turn the argument into a logical one. Nevertheless when you eat this way it'd best eat alone unless the people you are with get it. I don't follow all these rules either. I go to the gym as well and at 56 my gains are through the roof because I add more protein to my diet and I am in the best shape of my life. Just discovered your channel Lisa. You are a rocking lady. You look amazing. Thanks

Lisa, I love your "don't sweat the small stuff" philosophy about this carnivore lifestyle. I can't call it a diet because that, to me, implies you go on and off of it and we all know women who never get anywhere because they don't think of keto or carnivore as a permanent life change. Being hypothyroid, I can't "diet" and I had to completely change for good. I am not hungry all the time, IF almost every day unless I just wake up ravenous because I skipped supper the day previously-that's one thing that is different when you cut carbs...you learn what true hunger is when it hits, LOL. I can't count macros or calories or I stay food-focused. We don't ever eat fast food and we have our own chickens here, have for 17 years. My husband adores meat, but he always said it cost too much to eat this way until I convinced him that he was replacing 9/10 of all the other foods we eat with meat, not adding meat to everything else we used to buy, so it all works out pretty even, maybe better, even at today's insane prices. We even eat hotdogs, pork roast and some canned tuna occasionally in addition to a lot of steak and ground beef, some Angus, some grass fed. We've lost our taste for chicken after having so much tough chicken from Walmart, plus we don't eat our own chickens who are for eggs, fertilizer and entertainment only. I used to think I didn't like steak because I had trouble chewing it, but now, I know how to cook cheaper cuts of meat by reverse searing and it's been great. Thanks! ~Cynthia

It is so amazing how great i feel on just a few weeks of carnivore eating (i have had a few 'eat all the carbs that i want days')-- the joint pain, allergy symptoms, most of the menopause hot flashs, and edema are gone- i have far more energy and clarity-- and wow i feel super calm- this coming from someone who thought that their personality was just anxious- my brain just never turned off! And i started this as someone who did not like meat much but now i find myself craving it and butter- fascinating!! It tastes more gamey. That's why many ranchers let the cows eat grass all their lives and then switch their diet to grain the last 3 months so that the taste is a bit milder. If you are used to the taste of lamb and venison, you would be more used to grass-finished beef
@rmeester9366 Жыл бұрын
I am going to be the weird one to say that I prefer the taste of all grass fed beef. I actually can tell right away when a piece of steak is grain finished, it just tastes terrible to me, like this strange fake taste I can’t put my finger on.

I like how you presented this more as guidelines and differs by person. I have begun to fast naturally just by only eating when I'm hungry and I just realized this watching your video! With you allowing for the grey areas it really seems more realistic and do able. Thank you LisaLisaD1!!

I love this video. I was having severe gout issues for the past month so I started a carnivore diet just two days ago, but I really loved that comment about diet coke. A co worker of mine kept making me feel guilty about drinking those diet sodas and so many have had me convinced it's truly bad. But maybe it is, but like you said, I choose my battles. I'm going to continue drinking my diet sodas but I'll probably cut down at least. Can't do without it. It sort of balances everything out, it's like a mental, psychological and possibly physiological stability factor to make this carnivore sustainable for me. I can do away with a lot of stuff, like chocoloate for example, but don't take away my diet coke. THANK YOU!!!! Lastly, I'm going to tell this co worker of mine to mind his own business.

You're just echoing her justification for putting crap into your body. Carnivore isn't just about weight or glucose levels. Aspartame is simply not good for you, at all. They've known this for years and it has nothing to do with glucose levels. Odds are you'd feel much better without it if you had the discipline to get through your withdrawals.

Please continue to make videos about carnivore; I know when I need some encouragement I return and rewatch them; the last few weeks have been interesting; We left for vacation and were away for three weeks; for breakfast I always had eggs and sausage or bacon; for lunch I had deli meats with and without some crackers and then for dinner I had some some meat whether it was a ribeye, ribs etc; When I got back from vacation I was surprised I had lost 5 lbs; I forgot to mention the two weeks before we left I did not loose a pound; but I concentrated on how did I feel and why I was on this diet; then during that first week I lost additional 4 lbs; then we left for birthday celebrations; I did cheat and have a cocktail and a sliver of my birthday cake plus one breakfast I had a slice of French toast; I felt okay but when I got home I did weight 3lbs heavier; It has taken me the entire week to loose those three lbs; but that is okay I noticed this week I was bloated; I also ate an ear of corn; that won't happen again my stomach felt terrible; I did eat green beans that did not bother me; I am looking forward to this week; I have no idea what it will bring because we are leaving for a few days to celebrate another event; again I will try to stay on course. My goal is to learn to add a few veggies; I know my cholesterol is different because I have a monitor that test and gives a ratio; and it is higher but not over the given range. When we get back will buy one that test there three areas for the sole reason preparing my self for what my doctor will tell me in August. Thank you for all the tips.

Lisa, loved this video and how to be an example of daily life for women and people. You have to start somewhere and with whatever is within your reach. It will not be perfect but its a start and can be cost effective as you discussed. I love and live mainly on Walmart meats and you can find quality for a good price. You are also saving on the processed foods one used to consume prior to trying the lifestyle change. I as a physician and using this diet have seen huge changes in inflammation, health and quality and hormone balance sooooo much. Any diet is work and lifestyle will not be perfect but doing the best you can and modifying things to where and how it fits for you is key. Everyone is different and can benefit in some way with these changes. Never stop being you, love ya!

Electrolytes - you need magnesium, potassium and the pink Himalayan or another natural salt with trace minerals, not standard table salt. I just picked up an electrolyte supplement from health food store yesterday that I can pop into my water on the go. At home I take 300 mg of magnesium citrate every night before bed and then I’ve started to put No Salt (Which is straight potassium) 1/8 tsp into Apple cider vinegar (2tsp) and /or water a couple times a day, and pink salt on my food. Electrolytes are a game changer. Dr Berg has some great videos on this. Also look up recent interview with Dr Bright on Steak and Butter Girl channel- She’s got a new book and she talks about the importance of iodine supplement, only drops a day (Get the right kind etc.). Iodine really perks me up, I’ve been taking it off for about four years but not consistently when I’m really dragged out it it’s amazing so I’m gonna start taking it consistently based on Dr Bright’s research. All the best! (Bananas have potassium and are kind of a balanced fruity but high carb electrolyte source so that’s probably why you felt better that’s why I think adding electrolytes will help you!) 🙏🏻🌸

I am a wellness chef, and while I do appreciate your content, I would like to make a couple of comments with regard to overall health. I completely understand your preference for corn fed beef, especially if you’re in the state of Texas like I am. But I do think when you are telling people that grass fed beef doesn’t taste good, you are doing so from a limited perspective. Also, you should mention the health benefits of grass fed beef. It provides a wealth of omega-3 fatty acids since the cows are eating grass instead of corn. Omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory and can provide a much better bioavailable form of nutrition for people especially those battling auto immune disease and obesity. Secondly, I would like to let you know that you do develop a taste for grass fed beef, and many people come to actually prefer it. Lastly, there’s nothing wrong with having grass fed beef when you can/as you can afford it. It does not have to be an all or nothing approach. The other comment that I wanted to make is with regard to you talking about Diet Coke. First of all, physicians know absolutely nothing about true and proper nutrition. the harm of a Diet Coke is not going to show up on lab work until it is too late, frankly. There is a wealth of data available to show that Diet Coke contains cancer-causing artificial sweeteners. Notably, when you consume Diet Coke on a regular basis, you are putting your body at risk for brain and other tumors. True health is built from the inside out, and at the cellular level. I really don’t want people to get the wrong idea that just because you have optimized your weight, that it no longer matters what toxic chemicals we are ingesting. Just the same as you would not drink sugary drinks any longer or eat grains, you should also abstain from diet Coke due to its harmful effects. The reason you have such a tough time stopping it is because it is a neurotoxin and highly, highly addictive. I do believe for you to take your help to the next level, it is time to go off of the Diet Coke!

I really struggled with the cholesterol thing when I started this journey 2/2020 but finally came to peace with it after tons of research. I had elevated cholesterol for 20 years. Off and on statins and just could not take them. Had a CAC scan done and my score was ZERO. Can’t get any better than that. So, if high cholesterol did not cause build up in my arteries what causes it? Some theories now are inflammation within the arteries causes the buildup 🤷🏼♀️
