Thanks for the video Lisa! Yes it drives me crazy too. Some of the Jade summer books will not lay flat. I really enjoy these books for my markers. I just ordered the 100 magical Mandalas. I never thought I would enjoy coloring Mandalas but I find it very relaxing.

I love Jade Summer books but haven't bought some in forever so I decided to look and there are a lot of them on sale for around $5 cad on amazon.ca, they are usually over $10. Chibi girls 1 and2 grey scale is 5.28. So needless to say my shopping cart has some more books in it.

Hi! I just found your video and I am absolutely delighted. I have only been coloring since December and absolutely jumped down the rabbit hole when I saw the Jade Summer books! I already have eight and plan on getting many more! I really am not experienced with blending, etc. I mainly use them for relaxation. Jade Summers are my favorite and there are plenty left for me to purchase! But if you have any recommendations I would appreciate it. Take care and may God bless you always.

I love JS books too. I have 25 physical books (not counting the 2 I'm giving away. I probably have 15-20 digital books purchased from Etsy during a couple of fantastic sales last year. Adding: I have a couple that curl terribly. I haven't discovered a good fix yet.

Great collection. My Jade Summer coloring books try to curl on the side, too. I always try to put other coloring books on top of them. I do not know why they do this, as none of my other Createspace books do this.🙂

Nice collection, Lisa. My Jade Summer books curl too. I heard they don't print the books til they are ordered and I'm wondering if while still warm from printing if they are sat somewhere they shouldn't be. Lol...Does this make sense?

It might depend on which book you’re talking about. For the majority of them, I love using my alcohol markers. For many of the mandala books, I also really like using my glitter gel pens.

Do you get a chance to color in all of'em? I do at least 12 pages in each book and I found a book where I would do all 30 pages although it's going to take a lot of time.

Any book that has black backed pages don't lay flat. It has something to do with coating on the paper to make it black.

The curling is from humidity. Same thing happens to mine during summer

Thanks for showing your collection of Jade Summer books. I’d never heard of her before. I really like greyscale books. I’m wondering what the paper quality is like? You mentioned it’s Amazon paper, I’ve never purchased a book made by Amazon before. I’m interested in buying the greyscale books but I’d appreciate your honest feedback regarding the paper, using different mediums, or if she had a digital download for purchase.

Kelly Hunter Jade Summer’s books are printed on very “thirsty” paper. Markers work great on it but just be aware that if you use alcohol markers, the ink spreads/bleeds a little on this paper. But I pretty much ONLY use alcohol markers in my Jade Summer books and they work great. All Amazon paper is on the thin side but that’s why most of them are a little cheaper than the individually published books like Johanna’s. Hope this helps. They used to have a digital download available via a code at the back of each book you bought but they are no longer doing this as people were abusing their generosity.

Lisa’s Coloring Corner Thanks heaps for the info. Unfortunately living in Australia 🇦🇺 we pay crazy prices for colouring supplies & books. It will cost me $16AU for the book plus $15AU for the postage so that’s $31AU for one book. If the paper quality is pretty poor I can’t justify spending that much. At least I know with JB her books have good quality paper so it’s not to bad. I’m disappointed they no longer do the digital version. That would have been my go to. The books are sooo damn cute. 😢

Try turning them over and lay them flat and put something heavy on them for about a week then check them should be flat

I watched this as I am just getting into coloring books for adults and Jade Summer is one I have been very interested in. Your colored pictures show fine but when many pictures were uncolored all you can really see is a blinding glare from the sunlight so I stopped watching about halfway through because I couldn't see anything.

Nice collection!i have A LOT of JS books too. I noticed the curling books at the end of 2018. It's thinner,softer, grayer paper than before. I returned several - one I returned twice until they got it on the right paper. Nick Fritzen said he checked with Amazon and the were using 50 lb instead of 55 lb paper in error. I noticed in those bad books the back of the paper wasn't really black either- more gray..... hopefully they have resolved the issue but I haven't bought any since the intro pricing stopped. Thanks for showing!
